Observatory the Opticians in Southwold is known for our great customer service and our fashionable frames. We won the UK’s Best Independent Optician in 2016 and our sister practice in Beccles won the same award in 2014. We love to support our community - so much so we won the EADT Business Award in 2017 for Community Involvement. We visit the London, Paris and Milan trade shows every year to keep on top of the latest trends and hand-edit the frames that we think our customers will love, mixing our collection with an emphasis on fashion and quality at all price points.

We undertook our annual blindfold walk in Beccles to mark World Sight Day. Marcus was joined by Beccles Mayor Barry Darch and the Beccles & District Lions Club. We do this to raise awareness of the obstacles and challenges that blind and vision impaired people face and overcome every day.

Observatory the Opticians Southwold were named Best Optician in the UK in 2016-17 at the national Optician Awards. We offer state of the art equipment, including an Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT), great lenses and a large selection of frames and sunglasses to suit everyone’s taste and budget.

Optometrist Rene is delightful and has been at Observatory since 2007. Store Manager Jacqui has also been here since 2007. Jacqui offers an extremely high level of care and service, taking a keen interest in all of our patients. Assistant Store Manager Julia started at Observatory in 2008 and is able to offer her expert opinion on what frames and lenses will best suit you. You will also meet Jo, Molly and Mornie when you come to see us.
