🌟 New Term, New Yoga Classes🌟

If you’re curious about yoga or looking for a gentle introduction, my Beginners Yoga class is a welcoming space to start. We’ll move slowly, with clear guidance, so you can build confidence and enjoy the benefits of yoga at your own pace.

Beginners are welcome at all classes.

Full Schedule:

Wednesdays:
⭐ 9:30–10:30am: Beginners Yoga – Stones Methodist Church, Ripponden
⭐ 10:45–12:00pm: Chair-Based Yoga – Stones Methodist Church, Ripponden
⭐ 6:30–7:30pm: Mixed Ability Yoga – St Peters Community Centre, Sowerby

Thursdays:
⭐ 1:30–2:45pm: Chair-Based Yoga – St Peters Community Centre, Sowerby

💛 About the classes:

Beginners & Mixed Ability Yoga: We’ll explore movement, postures, breathwork, relaxation and meditation. Expect a mix of sitting, standing, and lying-down.

Chair Based Yoga: Perfect if you have limited mobility, or simply prefer a seated practise. This class follows the Gentle Years Yoga approach. It is mainly seated in a chair, with the option to stand using a chair for support. Like the other classes, we look at movement, postures, breathwork, relaxation and meditation, but at a slower more gentle pace.

💷 Pricing: £8 drop-in, or £40 for 6 consecutive classes.

Join me for Chair Based Yoga 🪑

New classes, starting 3 and 4 September

☀️Wednesdays, 10.45 - 12pm at Stones Methodist Church, Ripponden
☀️Thursdays, 1.30 - 2.45pm at St Peters Community Centre, Sowerby

These Chair Based Yoga classes are ideal if you’re living with health conditions, have mobility challenges, or simply prefer a gentler way to keep active without having to get up and down from the floor.

I’ve spent the past year training with the British Wheel of Yogas Gentle Years Yoga programme—a specialist, evidence-based approach designed to help you feel steady, comfortable, and confident in your movement and rest.

With the support of a chair, each class gently adapts traditional yoga poses so you can join in at a pace that feels right for you. It’s a safe and enjoyable way to look after body and mind. Here’s what you can expect:

✅Improve your strength, balance, and flexibility gently and steadily
✅Learn simple ways to manage health conditions and move with ease
✅Build confidence and reduce the risk of falls
✅Feel calmer and more focused with breathing and relaxation practises

These classes are welcoming, friendly, and supportive. They’re a space where you can enjoy moving, breathing, and resting, while taking time for yourself. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more at ease, and more confident in what your body can do.

Classes are £8, or £40 for a block of 6 consecutive classes.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to start teaching here, and returning to St Peters, Sowerby on 3rd September.

Wednesdays

I’ve just had the most amazing yoga filled weekend near Scarborough at The British Wheel of Yoga Sangha. We were treated to a huge variety of yoga classes – I tried out, Yin Yoga, Fascia Yoga, Dru Yoga, Quigong, Ashtanga, Meditation and Kirtan. Met so many lovely people, made new friends and managed to get into the sea three time. Sorry, feel like I’m totally bragging, but it was just perfect. I didn’t take many photos, but here are a few of the walk from Scarborough and the sea – the perfect backdrop to the weekend. Can’t wait to do it all again next year 😊

I'm back from a brilliant trip to France last week. It's amazing how a break away can fill you back up with so much enthusiasm for things.

We had a fab time exploring new places and visiting familiar ones too. From Bezier to the Alps, with the Côtes du Rhône, Avignon and Pont du Gard in between, it's been a whirlwind trip. We were blessed with sunshine, wonderful company and the most delicious food. Here are a handful of snaps. Now I'm back and excited to be planning yoga for this week.

Looking forward to seeing you for class on Wednesday, 6.30 - 7.30pm at St Peters Community Centre. Come and join us if you haven't before (or haven't for a while), it's a lovely friendly class. We're looking at range of movement in the lower body this week.

Classes start back up again this week. After a false start last week with the snow and ice, 15th Jan will be our first class of 2025. Hurrah, I cannot wait, it’s been a long break from classes! I hope you’re not feeling too stiff and achy – I have to admit, I am!

I’ve been slowly getting back into my regular yoga practise after a bit of a break over the holidays. It’s always hard after a break, but definitely worth the effort. I feel so much better this week for moving more in yoga and taking longer walks. Plus, we’ve finally run out of mince pies so I’m having to wean myself off having a sweet treat after every meal.

Really looking forward to seeing you back on the mat for some yoga this week.

I'm taking a festive break to sit by the fire and eat mince pies 🌟

We will start back on Wednesday 8th January. I've decided to cancel Fridays class. But watch this space, I'm making plans for 2025, I just don't know what they are yet 😍
