It is with regret that Breathe well physio will be closing. We are no longer taking on any new clients and current clients will be treated as required.

I have had an amazing time setting up this venture and have loved all the great results clients have made. I really appreciate all the support I have had but I need to start improving my work/life balance moving forwards.

Due to reduced availability of respiratory physiotherapy in traditional NHS care this article investigated the use of a virtual breathing retraining package for patients unable to control their symptoms with pharmacological treatment alone. A randomised controlled trial looked at patients receiving either a DVD with breathing retraining, 3 face to face sessions with the same input or normal care. The results showed that there were greater improvements in quality of life questions in both the face to face and DVD group compared to the basic care group. Actual lung function had minimal difference between all groups showing that even though physiological changes were minimal- the symptom burden was reduced.
