🚭WOULD YOU LIKE HELP TO QUIT SMOKING? 🚭

We are delighted to announce that we have a new team of in-house Smoking Cessation Advisors ready & waiting to support you through your journey to quit smoking.

Supported by the team at You Lincolnshire , you will receive 1to1 support from a dedicated advisor through a 12-week stop smoking programme, making you 4 times more likely to quit, for good. We’ll look at your history, help you set goals and offer follow-up support and Ni****ne replacement therapy (NRT).

Aside from all the well known health benefits that come with stopping smoking, you could save on average £3500 a year by seeking support to quit for good.

If you are interested in learning more and want to speak to one of our advisors to take the first steps on your journey to be smoke free, submit your interest online here - https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/C83003/flow/something-else - or ask at Reception or at your next appointment.

We have received a number of queries regarding the current Meningitis B outbreak in Kent.

Please be advised that the meningitis B vaccine was brought into routine childhood vaccines from 1st September 2015 onwards. For children born prior to this date they will not have received meningitis B as part of their schedule.

There are no current changes to the vaccine schedule advised by public health. If and when that changes, eligible patients will be contacted.

Prophylactic antibiotics are currently only being offered to:
• Students at Canterbury campus,
• All staff who live in the affected halls of residence,
• Anyone who attended Club Chemistry on 5th, 6th and 7th March
• Those who have been in close contact of any of the above people.

If you believe you fall into one of these groups, please call the UKHSA (UK Health Security Agency) on 03442252861 and select option 5 (option dedicated to meningitis queries).

You can check your child's immunisation status via the NHS App without the need to to contact the practice.

If you believe that you or your child have symptoms of Meningitis, do not visit the practice. Contact 111 for advice or dial 999 in an emergency.
