✨ Creativity is a human necessity, not a luxury.

Whether we paint, cook, write, garden, dance, knit or sing. It’s not about the outcome, it’s about the experience. Creativity connects us to joy, flow and possibility.

In mBIT coaching (multiple brain integration), the head brain’s highest expression is Creativity. When we allow ourselves to create, without judgement or expectation, we tap into fresh ideas and often, a surprising sense of calm.

🧠 Science tells us that creative activity reduces stress by lowering cortisol, the stress hormone. So those moments of play and imagination aren’t indulgent; they’re deeply restorative.

I’ve been leaning into this lately through writing, rollerskating, even repurposing a dollhouse..…all of it fuels me.

💡 How do you bring creativity into your life?

My September To Do List ✨

I’m a list maker; I don’t waste brain space trying to remember everything, I write it down! Normally, September is when I plan the rest of the year, but not this time.

After a long period of heightened cortisol (hello, stress hormones 👋), I’m choosing NOT to ramp things up. My list is much simpler:

✔️ Stuff – meeting work commitments & decluttering
✔️ Create – from crumbles to bunting, dollhouse project to jewellery
✔️ More of what I love – writing, swimming, rollerskating, pilates, dancing, walks, weekends away (Bath & Scarborough, here I come!)

This resonates.......“We don’t get burned out from doing too much, but from doing too little of what we love.” 💫

What’s on your to do list?

The first time I read The Alchemist was back in 2002, floating down the Nile on a felucca with Bob Marley and Eminem in my ears. A few months later, in 2003, I stepped away from full-time work and essentially my career to recover from M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.....and began trading as Wendy Alchemy.

Fast forward to this summer, as I navigated a new health challenge, I felt called to pick it up again while in Cornwall. And wow… the words landed so differently.

This time it wasn’t about discovery. It was about confirmation:
✨ Confirmation that listening to my inner voice is vital.
✨ Confirmation that challenges are part of the transformation.
✨ Confirmation that the synchronicities along the path are guiding lights.

It feels no coincidence that my work now flows through the name The Well-being Alchemist 💫 — because alchemy is exactly this: turning pain into wisdom, and obstacles into growth.

Sometimes the right book doesn’t arrive to teach us something new but to remind us of what we already know. 🌿

🍂 Hello September 🍂
After a summer of reflection, creativity and contentment, I can feel the seasons shifting once again.

Autumn has always been my favourite. I even have an Autumn-themed bedroom where velvet pumpkins live all year round. This September is particularly poignant as we prepare to take our daughter to University.

In the past, September has always felt like the start of a new school term; full of drive and motivation. This year feels different. A new way of working is emerging, one where my self-care (already central to everything I do) is needing to go deeper, with more intensity and greater consistency to keep me truly energised and inspired.

The summer break gave me space; space to try the things I’d been “meaning to do”, space to realise that some dreams no longer fit, and space to celebrate just how much I have achieved.

✨ This Autumn, I’ll be taking on fewer clients to make space for some exciting projects I’m working on. If you’d like to work with me before my diary fills, now is the time to get in touch.
Here’s to a season of gentle shifts, golden leaves, and embracing what’s truly right for us. 🍁✨

I have decided to sell my beautiful massage couch. It would do someone a good turn. Give me a shout if you are interested.

Hard Reset still in full flow… 🌿

Since my last update, I’ve been truly honouring my plan to pause. Truthfully, I left it a little later than I should have — my body reminded me the hard way (including an unexpected ambulance ride with a suspected stroke 😳 thankfully all is well now).

Now, Creatrix Mode is wide open 💫 I’m leaning into nature’s abundance.....cooking, freezing, jarring, walking daily, more wild swims, DIY, gardening, crafting… the lot. It feels nourishing, grounding, and exactly what I’ve been craving.

I’m also gently reflecting on how I work going forward as I’ve realised my own drive and “rules” sometimes push me beyond what’s kind to my body. Even my meditation practice has shifted into something softer, more supportive.

📸 Captured so beautifully by at with last week. 💜

Hello August ✨

Today I'm heading to the south coast for a Meditation Retreat with – always a wholesome, soul-soothing experience shared with a group of magical humans 💫

This month, I'm only working the week beginning Monday 11th August and spaces are already filling up.
August is my month for mini adventures, gentle pottering and plenty of nourishing moments 🌊🧘‍♀️

🌿 I'm back... sort of!

Hubster returned to work on Monday, and I'm slowly ramping things up again (more on that soon 👀).

We took a much-needed week away in Cornwall in The Boo Mobile; our first ever child-free week away😱. Safe to say, the kids were not impressed when they found out we went to our favourite spot next to The Lost Gardens of Heligan (sorry not sorry).

We even brought back a new family member – Frank the Tree Fern 🌴 (he’s already thriving). On the wettest day we did the jungle as we thought it would be atmospheric.
The local Rooks were awesome.
We popped over to Charlestown too... but sadly, no sign of Poldark 😅
Oh, and a top highlight? Our Lidl-in-the-middle Raclette-for-two. Tiny. Mighty. Glorious. 🧀🔥

To be honest, a week wasn’t nearly enough...

📣 Out of Office Alert! 🚪✨

Yes, I could schedule posts.
Yes, I should stay visible as a self-employed human.
But truthfully? I don’t care. 🙃

Hubster booked two weeks off, and I’m matching that energy by downing tools completely. We’ve got adventures planned, memories to make, and I’ll be soaking it all in....100% offline.

See you on the flip side!

💥 Exciting update! I’m now a Licensed Practitioner of Motivational Maps 🧭✨

Spent a brilliant day last week at the Kickstart Workshop with an inspiring group of fellow Mappers – full of great energy, ideas and some serious motivation.

We covered everything from how to confidently debrief a map, to running workshops and even the commercial side of bringing Motivational Maps into our work. I left buzzing and ready to apply it all!

If you’re curious about what really drives people (and how to harness it), give me a shout.

Hello July! 💛
It’s been a quiet few weeks on here – I’ve been juggling all the things and soaking up life offline.

This week is my last working week before I take two whole weeks off for some well-earned adventures with the Hubster. Friday can't come soon enough! 😄

I’ve also squeezed in some extra training recently (more on that later this week 👀), and last night’s beach visit in this gorgeous heatwave reminded me just how magical summer can be; even the sea was warm! 🌊

Here’s to sunshine, slow days, and summer memories. ☀️✨

Wendy’s story isn’t rare. But we don’t talk about it enough.
High-functioning. People-pleasing. Burning out in silence.

Until the crash comes.

In this episode, Wendy-Anne Steer The Well-being Alchemist opens up about:

- Her journey through burnout, grief, and chronic fatigue
- How shame kept her isolated, even while she was “doing the work”
- And the slow, steady reclaiming of her body, her energy, and her voice

This one is for the women who are exhausted, but don’t feel allowed to stop.

You are not broken.
You are not lazy.
You are not alone.

Episode 23 of Shame-less Stories is live now!
