🌿 Garden glow-up! 🌼

Our courtyard garden has had a fabulous makeover – and we’re loving the results! With beautiful new raised beds, it's now easier than ever for our residents to get involved in gardening, watering, and watching our plants bloom and thrive. 💜🌸

There’s nothing like a little fresh air and green-fingered fun to brighten our days!

After some issues with our page we are now able to post.
A couple of weeks ago we said goodbye to our Deputy Manager, Ancy and one of our Senior Carers, Amal. They have both been a massive part of our team here at Ashwood.
They will both be very sadly missed.
We wish them every success and all the best for the future

We had an amazing time at Ashwood for our Oscar Awards Ceremony 🏆 Lots of awards for everyone.
The red carpet was rolled out and the glitz and glam was all around.
Our Chef made some yummy treats for us all to enjoy. 🧁🍰
We had the music playing for anyone who wanted to enjoy a dance. 💃🎼🎤

Last week, our wonderful Deputy Manager, Ancy attended an awards ceremony in Lincoln, where she was a finalist in the Front Line Leader category in the 2024 Lincolnshire Care Awards.

She was recognised for her commitment to delivering high-quality care and inspiring her team🏡✨

March for Ashwood has been a very busy month........👌
The residents made some tasty Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. The residents and some staff had a go at flipping them which was great fun. 🥞
Michelle's Pets have been in to see us. The residents always enjoy it so much when they come in to visit. 😺🐶🦃🐾
We have had five wonderful birthdays to celebrate this month and also a member of our staffing team retired after 26 years of service, lots of delicious cake all round. 🎉🎈🎂
We have had the Tap Dancers in to entertain us. 💃
We had great fun on St Patricks Day and also on Red Nose Day. 🍾
We had a sensory day and lots of crafting went on this month. 🎨
We went for a visit to the Emporium in Long Sutton too. 🚐🛍️

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Valentine's Day.
We had our Valentine's Day Tea Party on Friday. Lots of visitors came along, we had the amazing Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues entertaining us.
Amazing raffle to raise money for the residents comfort fund with lots of happy winners.
Last but not least we had the cake tasting. Our chef had been busy in the kitchen creating the three cakes that were tasted and voted on which one was the best, there were: Black Forest Gateau, Passion Cake and Romantic Rose Cupcakes. It was a very close competition but for us it was 1st place for Passion Cake, 2nd place for Romantic Rose Cupcakes and 3rd place was Black Forest Gateau

Well what a month January has been.
We have made a start on creating some decorations to display around the home for Valentine's Day celebrations.
We have also been crafting. We have been making some Pom Pom dolls and some hot air balloons.
We have been making some salt dough, and then creating shapes with it.
There has been some pampering and completing some puzzles.
We took some of the residents out to Waterside Garden Centre which they thoroughly enjoyed.
We also had a visit from Michelle's Pets. The residents really enjoy seeing all the animals.

Happy Little Hands are looking forward to our first Intergenerational Class of the year this Thursday at 10am!! Please note this is now at St Johns Care Home due to illness at Ashwood.

Before Christmas we had the amazing Spalding Amateur Dramatic Society in to entertain us.
They are all lovely people and put big smiles on our faces, their energy was high and made us all feel happy.
They sang Christmas songs and Christmas carols. Such a joy to watch

We had an amazing Christmas Day here yesterday at Ashwood. We had the gifts being handed out in the morning. We had lots of families and visitors in to see our wonderful residents.
The tables were set out lovely for Christmas dinner. The amazing food was served. Smiles all around. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Ashwood
