Lindum Hockey Club is the largest hockey club in Lincolnshire, offering both elite and social opportunities for players of all ages. The club was formed in 2015 by the merger of two previous clubs, Lincoln Hockey Club and Lincoln Roses Hockey Club, to create a center of excellence for hockey in the county.

Lindum is a club full of history dating right back to the war and with history set within the city of Lincoln.

A core value for the club is to provide hockey for everyone in a fun, safe, and caring environment, with club members at the heart of everything.

The club's Men's 1st team plays National League hockey, and they were the first Lincolnshire side to reach this level.

They have a strong junior section, with players progressing through England Hockey's structure.

And…….Talk Stick is etching its part in Lindum’s history by holding our mental health awareness session with Bro Pro UK…….This FRIDAY

We need your help 🗣️

Please help us promote and share Talk Stick even more.

All our followers we need a bigger push than ever. With hockey season returning, we need to get our name out there even more! We want more people to know our name.

So please spread the word and share our pages and follow our story as we aim to break the silence around men’s mental health in hockey.

This is a snippet of our story so far….

3 lads from Spalding Hockey Club continue to push for Lincolnshire hockey clubs around the county to raise awareness for men’s mental health and su***de prevention in the game.

This initiative was started due to a sudden loss of a friend and teammate in the summer of 2024. Sam, Mike and David created “Talk Stick” for an environment where all current and former players, supporters, partners, parents, umpires and associates to come together to speak within the club to show no one is alone.

Talk Stick aims to create environments for all men to get things off their chest (or to just talk ‘stick’!) and speak to one another about all the good or negative things. Talk Stick’s goal is simple: to foster environments where men can talk openly-about the good, the bad, and everything in between for the hockey fellas of our county.

Talk Stick is in partnership with men’s Lincolnshire based charity Bro Pro UK. Bro Pro UK supports men’s mental health and is always accessible no matter what!

Additional sustainability funding for the project Talk Stick is underway with over £4000 already been received through generous donations and sales of a limited edition Talk Stick shirts and people fundraising for the project!

Hockey season is back….so is Talk Stick with our mental health awareness sessions!

Talk Stick are absolutely delighted to announce and share that Lindum Hockey Club have signed up to the mental health workshop with Bro Pro UK

This is a fantastic step, and we hope all the fellas and supporters of the club benefit from the awareness session and “break the silence” 🏑🧡

Lindum are our sixth Lincolnshire based hockey club to sign up to our sessions. We hope this can make a difference to all the fellas in our game 🧡

Lincolnshire hockey clubs - get in touch to get your session booked in, even if you’ve had one before. A lot can change in months away from the game and our fellas of our clubs may benefit from this.🏑🧡

A small update from another initiative we are working with here at Talk Stick……Lumi Nova

LUMI NOVA HAVE HAD OVER 1400 YOUNG PEOPLE SIGN UP TO LUMI NOVA IN LINCOLNSHIRE SINCE THE LAUNCH OF THE APP IN JANUARY!!

As we come towards the latter part of the school holidays and as the new school year looms large on the horizon, I wanted to reach out to highlight that access to Lumi Nova is still available for young people and their families across Lincolnshire. As you can see from the figure above it has already helped many families to support young people learn to cope with their fears and worries. With this in mind, we would really appreciate your support again sharing information about Lumi Nova to ensure that everyone who can benefit from access is aware of the offer.

We all commonly face barriers in seeking help, often due to fear, stigma, and pressures.

Anxiety is linked highly to impacting mental health and can lead sadly to su***de!

Anxiety comes in all forms and symptoms!

Anxiety is real and can affect us all! Support is there to get us through and ensure no more lives are lost!

This is why our story started due to a sudden loss of a loved friend, team mate and brother. This is our story and why we want to continue driving talk stick and ensure no more lives are lost…especially for our hockey family.

Talk Stick made its final stop! 🇺🇸

For the last week the Next Level Coaching team headed for a new camp. East Hampton High school camp!

I’m sure you guys had a blast and was put through your paces in the heat!

We are so grateful Talk Stick made it to the USA and our name is being spoke and heard about on other side of the world 🌎 🇺🇸

A massive thank you to the NLC team and especially to Stu and Rob our local players in Lincolnshire driving and spreading the word of our project!

Talk Stick continued to fly and visit hockey camps across the USA this summer! 🇺🇸

Week 4 for the Next Level Coaching team saw 70 kids on camp that week! 40 kids were overnight campers at Foxcroft Academy with another 30 day campers.

Stu and Rob were at Foxcroft Academy in Maine! What a special camp with players coming from all over Maine!

Our message is clear as ever, Keep our shirt moving and raising awareness! It’s good to talk and no one is ever alone 🇺🇸 🧡

The shirt still stood out in your massive camp guys, so thank you for showing the love of talk stick and what we are all about!

Football season is back, and hockey season is not far away either from starting. A video that resembles our project and why Sam, Mike and David started this project, to prevent su***de in our game of hockey.

A truly inspiring and hard hitting video. Sadly, we truly never know how someone truly is if we do not check in regularly.
Norwich City FC thank you so much for your video and allowing us to share your message.

The video, entitled “You Are Not Alone”, has now been viewed over 55 million times and carries an important message about su***de prevention and the need to check in with those around you, as people may not display obvious signs that they are struggling.

This is another touching story as Oscar is Spalding Hockey Clubs men’s 1s Goalkeeper where Talk Stick all started 🧡

Hi! We are Oscar and Oli and due to recent circumstances we have become more aware of the importance of men’s mental health and we are determined to help spread the goals of talk stick which is to deliver a roadshow of men’s mental health and su***de prevention info and awareness sessions across hockey clubs in Lincolnshire. We chose talk stick due to the moving story of its creation and its involvement in hockey- a sport that we love and based on our personal experience . We also love a challenge, and are excited to do it whilst supporting a very good cause. The money raised will be used to provide vital support for more hockey clubs across Lincolnshire. The event will take place on 28th October 2025 and will involve 60 km of walking across the 24 hours, a form of exercise we have found incredibly useful to support wellbeing and positive mental health.
