My time at Navina, Costa Rica has flown by so fast is a thing!

I feel like I’ve learned so much, but at the same time scratching the surface of what is possible with the body and the practice.

Words cannot describe how thankful I am to for 1: sharing his knowledge and practice with me, 2: making me (and the others) so welcome at what is his home as well as his centre, 3: for making us laugh, like proper goofy laughs, and for the nourishment and care he has shown throughout.

I will carry the mantle back to Fife and beyond as best as I can, and I can’t wait for the trainings we will be offering together at the studio in Guardbridge.

There comes a point in practice where adding more techniques isn’t the answer.

What changes everything is clarity.

This year, I’m collaborating with .community to bring Thai Yoga Massage training to Scotland, a curriculum I have completed myself and integrated into my own clinical work.

What drew me to this training wasn’t just the modality.

It was the shift.

From sequence to intention.
From routine to reasoning.
From “what next?” to “why this?”

This training isn’t about collecting techniques.

It’s for practitioners willing to examine how they make decisions in the treatment room and refine that process.

Absolutely loved coming back to Fife College via the Fife College Student Employability Hub and it was great to meet a new cohort of students embarking on their complementary therapies journey in the stunning new campus in Dunfermline. Looking forward to meeting the Kirkcaldy students next week!

A great option for bodywork without the use of oils and needing to disrobe.

Those who choose this option love the passive stretching and the depth of the work without lying prone for an hour-albeit there are times when a prone position (on your front) is best and there are ergonomic face cradles and cushions designed for floor-based work.

I personally love this type of treatment as a therapist and the last time I actually received this type of bodywork was in 2024 when I completed my introductory training in it!

I have always championed movement alongside bodywork and manual therapy.

My flagship signature session is a Combination Therapy session where you will tune into your body through movement principles found in yoga science followed by a massage tailored to your needs.

Sometimes the session is switched around to have the massage first followed by movement to see what effect the manual therapy has had on the body, and mind.

All sessions are tailored to your needs and it would be a pleasure to treat you in the studios in Guardbridge.

It’s good to be back in the studio after a wee holiday with my partner. Self-employed life and coordinating holidays is a job in itself, and vital for the running of a small independent business. Grateful for the time off and looking forward to working with my clients all weekend.

Therapy tea brewed and we are good to go!

I would never have dreamt that I’d have had the privilege and honour of being the therapist of choice for this many people.

It isn’t about the numbers. In this line of vocation, the experience-building and encountering that many humans on such a personal level is profoundly different to other jobs I’ve had, including being a nurse.

I am proud of Sean Elder Therapies and deeply grateful and appreciative of the opportunities to learn, move, develop and help people.

Flexible & Adaptable, this is the foundation in which I built Sean Elder Therapies.

Both treatment rooms were in use today, which was fulfilling and rewarding for the people who chose us for their weekend appointments and for us as therapists who make themselves available at the weekends.

The treatment room in Guardbridge can be used for a variety of purposes including and more.

A variety of lighting options, power points, a sink and hot water means most therapists will be right at home and our clients receive the best care!
