Congratulations to Hayley Dicker, Bedford CCN team, for successfully completing her Pg Dip specialist Children's Community Nursing Practitioner Qualification.

Hayley was seconded by CCS to undertake the course at the University of Hertfordshire and has also been awarded the Dame Elizabeth Fradd Memorial Prize for outstanding student for the Specialist Practice Qualification in Community Children’s Nursing at UoH.

Hayley had a beautiful sunny day last Friday for her graduation ceremony at St Albans Cathedral. This is an intensive year long course developing her knowledge and understanding in Policy and practice, Leadership and management, Health Needs Assessment, Long Term Conditions, V300 Non-Medical prescribing and Research in practice.

We are immensely proud of her and wish her continued success in her career. She is now able to use the title Specialist CCN and will be our local lead for Paediatric palliative care pathways.

During strike action by resident doctors (from 7am on Friday 25 July until 7am on Wednesday 30 July) please be aware:

- If you haven't been contacted to reschedule your hospital appointment then please attend as normal.
- A&E departments will still be open so do still get medical help in emergency and serious life or limb threatening cases.
- GP practices will continue to be open as normal during the resident doctors strike. Please continue to attend your GP and dental appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise.
- Continue to use 111, minor injury units or urgent treatment centres for urgent medical help.

During August there are lots of opportunities to catch up on missed vaccinations in Ely. You don't have to live in Ely to use these walk-in clinics and all the vaccinations are free.
