Changing of the guard!

Henbrook House are delighted to welcome and introduce our new house manager Michael Zinaka.

He steps into the shoes of Catherine Frost who remains within Connaught Care overseeing all of the groups amazing homes.

With Catherine being such a hard act to follow, it was important that the right candidate who shared the same passions and values was appointed. It did not take long to realise that Michael had everything it takes to support our residents and staff in our wonderful home. 🏡

Michael had these words to say...
"My passion lies in ensuring that everyone who lives with us experiences the highest standards of personalised care. My guiding principle is simple: ‘We are all one big family.’ I encourage our team to care for our residents as we would our own loved ones, with the same warmth, respect, and attention we’d want for those dearest to us.❤️

With many years of experience in care home management, including commissioning, monitoring and recovery, I’ve learned that creating positive outcomes for residents means translating compassion into everyday practice. But beyond the professional side, what really drives me is creating an environment where our residents can truly enjoy their time with us and live life to the fullest—not just exist, but thrive.

I believe in bringing joy, laughter, and genuine connection to Henbrook House, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you".

✨️The week that was✨️

Whilst Storm Goretti brought in the cold wet weather, our Henbrook residents were kicking up their own storm of their own with a down pouring of fun, a showering of laughter and a teeming of togetherness.

With us not being able to get out and about, we made sure the entertainment came to us.

Providing a unique variety act was the verstile John E Ford.

The Wendy Lambos Duo entertained for our Jazz & Fizz afternoon.

To conclude our weeks entertainment, Marcus Hughes and his unbelievable guitar playing had everyone up and singing.

Residents enjoyed our weekly games of beat the clock, giant pairs and wednesday wordsearch.

Up on our memory floor residents enjoyed banana muffin making, bespoke exercise class, karaoke and finding out about our past with our memory question ball.

With balloon modelling, virtual scuba diving, childminder and therapy dog visits, axe throwing and new year smoothy making. It made for an amazing start to our 2026.

We even managed to fit in a resident disco.

A New Year and a new you.💪💕

The importance of regular exercise and social wellbeing is paramount in what we set to achieve here at Henbrook House.

2026 will see us going from strength to strength.. Literally.💕

Residents can expect to see an even wider variety of options throughout the week including..

💪 Stength and mobility classes
💪 Yoga with Lianne.
💪 Chair dance exercise with Lynne.
💪Seated Chair exercise with Claire.
💪One to one Sessions with our PT Lisa.
💪 Drop in sessions with our Life Enrichment and Wellbeing coach Lindsey.

Coupled with personalised fitness plans, our regular garden and riverside strolls, we set to make this year the healthiest one yet. 💕
