The signs are good!

Henbrook House recently started up a sign language course for our residents led by our Activities Coordiantor Pauline.

Showing a BSL course video in the comfort of our amazing cinema, residents over the last few weeks have learnt level 1 communication along with the song "what a wonderful world"🌎👌

We are now looking forward to a joint venture at Christmas, when the residents and pupils of Little Paxton School come together to sign and sing a selection of Christmas Carols. 🎶🌲

At Henbrook House we are always looking at ways to offer inclusive connection skills with our residents and their families.

✨️ The week that was! ✨️

Another incredible week here at Henbrook House.

Our outings this week took us Indoor Bowls and to the local pub for a catch up over drinks and a game of darts. 🎯 🍻🍷

Both Colin Charles with his captivating dance moves along with the combined harmonies of the Alchemy Barber shop quartet were our in house performers for the week 🎶🎤

Our new game of beat the clock proved a great success along with our first Christmas choir rehearsals.🎶🎅

Our hands on activities this week saw residents making pizzas from scratch along with a seasonal flower arranging session.🍕🌷

Events Coordinaor Jade agreed to be our model for our fun portrait session.

We even had some friendly animals come in for a visit for the afternoon.🐢🐓🐈

Our week wouldnt be complete without a good old game of prize bingo.

Another amazing week here in our beautiful home.

A Christmas Trail
🎄🎅✨️🌲🎅✨️

Once again Henbrook House opens its doors at this Festive time of year.

We would like to invite you to join us for an evening to remember in the setting of our beautiful home.

With snow falling down on our illuminated gardens, be sure to grab a mulled wine or hot chocolate before a visit to Father Christmas and two of his reindeers.🦌🎅❄️

Inside, our decorated Bistro will be bringing the Christmas memories with the sounds of the brass band followed by a performance from our festive singers🎶🎄

Keep a look out for the Grinch as he looks to bring some mischief to the occasion.

With our kitchen team providing seasonal festive food offerings, this will be one event you will not want to miss.❄️🎅🎄🎶

Spaces are also limited for our Santas Grotto.

✨️ Meet the Team ✨️

Keeping everyone fuelled with a wide range of extraordinary food offerings is our Head Chef Paulino.

From the very first day at Henbrook House when we opened our doors, Paulino and his amazing kitchen team have been providing first class food for both residents and community events.

Each day of the week, our residents have the option of a theme food menu including 'world classics' 'catch of the day and british cuisine'. Each meeting the varying dietary requirements throughout our home.

Paulino started his career in catering working in the city of London providing corporate meals in the hospitalitality sector. It wasnt long that his talents and leadership skills shone through and was awarded the position of Head Chef.

When asked what brought him to us here at Henbrook, Paulino had this to say.
" I was in search for a new challenge, a role that was more focused on individual needs and sense of purpose"

With Paulino recently winning our Connaught star award, along with his success at being a finalist in the last 2 British care awards, we can all agree that Paulino along with his team are a huge asset to our wonderful home.🏡

💙Henbrook remembers💙

"Never was so much owed by so few to so many".

Today here at Henbrook House we paid respect through our weekly church service and a visit to the local rememberance day parade.

Our residents also got involved in creating a poppy mural for our front reception where one of our staff family members was raising money for the poppy day appeal.❤️

This afternoon we welcomed our forces sweetheart and a george formby tribute who led the celebration of freedom through song.

A wonderful day here in our beautiful home, honouring the sacrifice of those who gave us their today so we could live our tomorrow.

🧯A safe home is a happy home.🧯

In order to further increase our levels of safety within our beautiful home, 5 members of staff recently took time out to receive training to become one of our homes recognised fire marshalls.

At Henbrook House Care Home we promote a proactive safety culture where preparedness is a priority and people feel confident in their ability to respond to an emergency.

This helps Reduce any panic and confusion. Familiarity with the evacuation route and process can lead to a calmer, more organized response in the event of a real emergency.

With our weekly fire alarm tests, information talks to residents, regular drills and now 5 additional fire marshalls, our happy home is also a very safe home. 🏡

Lighting up the sky with memories
🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇

Henbrook House this evening hosted its annual Resident and Relatives firework display and what a lovely night it was.

The parade of the night flies starting our proceedings which was soon followed by a fireworks display in true Henbrook style.

With fine food including our famous signature burger straight from the BBQ and hot chocolate with marshmallows, it made for the perfect way to celebrate.

Bringing families together at these special times of the year is what we do here in our wonderful home.🏡

✨️ The week that was ✨️

After the success of our awards night, it was time to reflect back on the week just gone by.

Our Autumn theme continued with our the putting together of our residents painted hands family Tree. 🤚🌳

10 pin bowling, garden centre trips and retail therapy were our outings last week.🎳🌻

The uplifting voice of Dave Cox had everyone singing along to some well known classics.🎶🎸

The childminders brought some hilarity with their "big pants" catching game🤣

Jade had everyone making spooky Halloween cookies for all to enjoy.

New to Henbrook House this week was Karaoke which brought out some hidden talents amongst the residents.

Speaking of talents, we had a nice surprise when resident Kathleen played her accordian for everyone during our half time break at Bingo.. Simply amazing 🪗

With more fun in Paulines balloon modelling class, and games galore including our most popular game of penny up the wall,
It made for yet another amazing week here in our wonderful home 🏡
