National Gardening Day.
🏡🌻🌹👶🧒🏡

Today Henbrook House marked National Gardening Day by incorporating a variety of different activities throughout the day.

First up, our childminder children together with our residents decorated pots and then planted sunflower seeds ready for the summer ahead. 🌻🌻🌻

We then went all creative as we experimented in making roses from airdry clay. 🌹

With the sun shining, this afternoon we took a visit to Roxton Garden Centre where we embraced the spring colours and scents as well as enjoying a nice cup of tea.☕️

Together with courtyard strolls and our gardening club on tidy up duties, it made for the perfect blend of intergenerational and appreciation.

We tried to keep calm... but it all went a bit quakers

Over the last few days, our residents have had the joy of 5 gorgeous ducklings, watching them hatch and grow. From the first tiny cracks in the shells to seeing the ducklings take their first steps, it was a wonderful journey to witness together.

Our residents were even able to gently handle the ducklings, creating meaningful moments of connection, joy, and curiosity. The experience sparked conversations, memories, and plenty of smiles all around.🐣

It’s amazing how something so small can bring such warmth and happiness 💛

Proof that a few ducklings can ruffle feathers but in the best way🐣

Variety is certainly the spice of life. 🎶🎤🎭🇬🇧🎶

Residents of Henbrook House were treated a good old fashioned variety show as the 20th Anniversary Special of the Neil Sands "Remember When" came to town.🎤🎶

Featuring over 60 memorable songs the cast took the audience back to the Golden days of the 1940's through to the 1970's.🎶🇬🇧🎭🎤

With stunning costumes, unforgettable melodies and good old fashioned fun, this was a celebration of timeless entertainment which our residents did not stop talking about all the way home.🎶💕🏡

⭐️Exciting News⭐️

To mark World Health Day, what better day to make an announcement.

We are thrilled for the 2nd year in a row that Henbrook House, part of the Connaught Care Group has been awarded the "Top 20 Care Homes" in the East of England.👏🏡🎉

This is an incredible achievement by the whole team who bring so much energy, passion and excellence to our home every single day. Their dedication truly does make a difference.💕

Heres to many more milestones ahead. Can we go 3 for 3 next year. We think we can.🎉

✨️The week that was!✨️

With birthday celebrations, silent disco's and our Easter community event, it's hard to think we could fit in anymore fun and excitement here at Henbrook House. Well you'd be wrong. What a week we have had.

as well as weekly retail therapy, our residents enjoyed a trip to Johnsons Farm where amongst the animals they got up close and personal to over 20 crocodiles.🐊

Our in house entertainment was brought by Britain's Got Talent semi Finalist Immi Davis and the Operatic musical tones of the amazing Liam Carter.🎶🎤

The Evangelical Church joined us for a special Easter service as well as the Sunday service being streamed live from Ely Cathedral to our cinema.⛪️

Cognitive games and puzzle challenges were a plenty in addition to our weekly resident favourite group activity games.🎯🧩

With it being Easter, our baking session was full of sweet treats as we made chocolate nests.🪹🍫

With the arrival of our hatching ducks, plenty of laughs with April Fools coloured drink challenge and portrait drawing of Events Manager Brian, it made for a very full week here in our wonderful home. 🏡

Easter Eggstravaganza 2026🐰🍫🐥

Henbrook House today opened its doors once more to our amazing community for our annual Easter Eggstravaganza.🐰🍫🐥

Once 3 tasks had been completed, children of all ages (including some adults) had the chance to hunt for eggs in our spacious garden.

Some were even lucky enough to find the Golden Egg for an extra special prize.💛

An amazing afternoon of joy, fine food, and even cuddles with our little ducklings.🐥

Next up is our Bank Holiday family fun day at the end of May. Stay tuned for further detail in. The next couple of weeks.

Celebrating 2 years.... In Silence.🎶

Its been 2 years since our first resident walked through the doors of their new home here at Henbrook House.🏡

Carrying on from our birthday celebrations earlier in the week, we decided to bring the noise levels down a level or two. However what our silent disco lacked in loud music, we certainly made up in laughter.

A unique way for both residents and staff to come together to mark a very special anniversary.

Over the last 2 months we have been gathering our residents bucket list wishes and throughout March we've had the joy of bringing many of them to life.

At Henbrook House we go beyond listening, we turn wishes into reality.

2nd Birthday Celebrations
🎉🎂🎉🎶🎉

This afternoon we celebrated 2 years since we opened our doors here at Henbrook House.

And boy did we do it in style.

World renown Electric Violinst "Storm" greeted residents and visitors whilst street magician Dan Rogerson wowed everyone in the room with his slight of hand table magic.🪄✨️🎻

It was then time for the speeches as our GM Michael and Connaught Care Group CEO Andrew Winstanley took to the floor before making way for the Leslie Ann Duo who kept the party atmosphere with their uplifting song set 🎤🎶🎉

With yet another amazing offering from the kitchen team and wonderful support from our local community, it made for a lovely afternoon for everyone celebrating our 2nd birthday.

Our day concluded with the official cutting of the Henbrook cake with both our longest residing resident Gladys together with our longest serving member of staff Tenil.

The mischievous Easter Bunny will be hiding coloured Eggs in the Henbrook gardens.🐰🏡
Once you completed 3 seasonal crafts, you will then be given your exclusive egg finder ticket. Collect all the colour eggs to exchange for an Easter Egg or an Activity pack.
