You’re not alone - fear of public speaking is one of the most common (and limiting) anxieties in professional life. And it’s not just about nerves. For many, this fear is deep rooted in early experiences - being laughed at in class, feeling ignored at home, or being thrust into the spotlight before you felt ready.

A really fast, effective way to tackle imposter syndrome is through hypnotherapy. I caught up with a client I saw 3 weeks ago for insomnia. Clara had had the double whammy of not being able to get off to sleep, and then when she finally did, she’d wake up again at 3am and that would be it. 3 weeks after her hypnotherapy session with me, Clara bounced onto our call telling me everything had changed. She had been sleeping consistently 7-8 hours a night for the last fortnight, was waking refreshed and experiencing a massive boost in her general wellbeing and feelings of calm and confidence.

Hypnotherapy can create positive changes, rapidly, by dealing with what’s underlying the issue and then rewiring your thought patterns (e.g. away from ‘I’m never going to get to sleep!’ to a calmer, more empowering inner voice).

Sometimes, the roots of anxiety or low confidence go back further than we expect. In my latest blog, I share the story of a client who discovered that some difficult moments from childhood were still shaping how she felt day to day - until she used hypnotherapy to reconnect with and heal that part of herself.

When anxious thoughts take over, shift your focus to your senses. Try the "5-4-3-2-1" grounding technique:
👀 Name 5 things you can see
👂 Listen for 4 sounds around you
🤲 Touch 3 objects near you
👃 Notice 2 scents
👅 Identify 1 taste

This simple practice helps bring you back to the present moment, easing anxious feelings.

🌟 "Usually if I travel to London I always fancy a latte and a pastry - but no! No urge, no impulses pulling me towards a cafe - nothing. I even had some chocolate bars for my son in my bag and I literally couldn’t care less about them. All day I drank water happily, even mid afternoon when normally I’d be having a sweet snack. Standing in the coffee shop - no interest to buy or even see the cakes. My son even offered me some of his and I just didn’t fancy it - it was so amazing. I can’t believe how much I’ve changed after just one session. Thank you Sarah this is life changing!” Janet
