Va**ng can be a difficult addiction to kick, but with all the associated health complications becoming more and more prevalent, it's important to start putting your body first. 🫁🌱

Here are a few things to note if you're considering quitting...

1. It's as much a battle of overcoming conformity as it is self-discipline 👯‍♂️

Part of quitting 'social' addictions is having enough self-esteem to stop yourself from complying with other's behaviour. Not wanting to join in with va**ng is not going to make them dislike you or devalue you as a friend.

2. Building this self esteem and battling addiction could be made easier through hypnotherapy 🌱

Hypnotherapy uses the power of relaxation and suggestion to rewire your negative thoughts patterns, replacing them with positive, rational thoughts. This can help you to keep your cool during times you feel you need a v**e.

3. Try behaviour substitution, replace the habit 🍎

1. Challenge the negative self talk 💌

Critical thoughts about ourselves manifest themselves as negative opinions over time. If you want to love yourself, start talking to yourself like you would speak to your most treasured friends. This is a skill that comes with time, and something hypnotherapy could help you improve.

2. Celebrate your accomplishments ✨

Often we put too much pressure on ourselves to complete certain goals and put ourselves down if we don't achieve them, but don't even praise ourselves when we do accomplish them. Treat your successes as a win, not just something that should be expected of you!

3. Set firm boundaries with yourself and others 🤺

Letting others take advantage of you will only diminish your self-esteem. It is achievable to find a balance between kindness towards others and self-care.
