I’m Abigail, an Aesthetic Nurse and the face behind A. Smith Medical Aesthetics and Training 🤍

I’ve been working within nursing for several years and my journey into aesthetics came from a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in themselves and a desire for 1:1 healthcare. For me, this isn’t just about treatments, it’s about listening, understanding and creating results that feel like you, just refreshed and more confident.

I offer a range of treatments including anti wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, skin boosters and advanced skincare treatments, but my approach is always the same, natural, subtle and tailored completely to you.

I pride myself on being honest and ethical in everything I do. I will never recommend something you don’t need and I will always put your safety and best interests first. Every treatment plan is built around you as an individual, with a strong focus on medical knowledge, facial anatomy and long term results.

A little bit about me outside of clinic life, I’m a solo parent to two, currently studying my MSc in Management in Healthcare, and running my own business, so life is definitely busy. Like many of you, I’m juggling all the things that life throws my way. Building this business has been such a personal journey and I’m so grateful for every single person who supports it 🤍

I’ll be working from BASE Stafford from 15th April, Wednesdays to Fridays, and I’m so excited for this next chapter.

Not every practitioner wants to be a social media influencer… and that’s okay 🤍

In a world where trends, views and viral content can feel like everything — it’s important to remember that not all of us are here for that.

Of course, social media has its place. It’s a powerful tool to showcase our work, educate our patients and grow our businesses. But for some of us, that’s where it begins and ends.

We’re quietly confident in what we do.
We don’t feel the need to follow every trend, chase every like, or mould ourselves to fit an algorithm.

Because aesthetic medicine isn’t a trend. It isn’t a side hustle.
It’s an extension of healthcare.

Behind the scenes are years of education, clinical training and real patient responsibility. Many of us have completed nursing degrees, spent time in clinical environments, and continue to invest in ongoing training to uphold the highest standards of care.

Our focus will always be:
Safe practice.
Ethical treatment.
Natural, considered results.

Not clout.

Throwback to this lovely review from a client who had a small amount of dermal filler placed in her chin to gently elongate the face and improve the overall harmony and balance of her features.
She was already such a beautiful woman before treatment, but a subtle enhancement like this can help bring everything into proportion and frame the face beautifully.

This month, in celebration of Mother’s Day, I’m so excited to share a special giveaway we did in partnership with an incredible independent gem in Stafford, Doddy’s Soft Play.

Hannah, the heart and soul behind this place, pours so much love into creating a welcoming, peaceful, and beautifully designed environment for families.

I was so glad to be able to give Hannah a £50 voucher for herself and another £50 voucher for her to gift to a deserving mum of her choice at her mothers day event this weekend.
In total, we gave away £100 to two amazing mums this Mother’s Day, and I can’t wait to see them in clinic and spoil them!

Today, I want to talk about a video I came across on Instagram that really left me unsettled. I saw a practitioner injecting herself, no gloves, rings on, fake tan on her hands, hair down, sleeves hanging loos, just casually pinching the area and injecting right next to it. The risk of infection here is huge, and honestly, it undermines everything we as aesthetic practitioners stand for.

Now, I’m not here to call out this one person, but I am here to say we, as an industry, need to do better. Aesthetics isn’t just a passing trend; it’s a medical practice that deserves the same respect, regulation, and safety standards as any other medical field. We have to be the ones to set the gold standard, to protect our clients, and to build trust...trust that’s taken years to develop by so many dedicated practitioners.

Let’s keep raising the bar, stay accountable, and make sure we’re always presenting ourselves as the professionals we truly are. This is about the future of our industry, and we owe it to everyone, clients, practitioners, and the wider community, to do better.

Waiting for the “perfect moment” can keep us stuck for years.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is take the first step before we feel completely ready.

Dearest gentle reader..

This is your reminder that your skin doesn’t need to be perfect to be worthy of care.

I see so many women who feel they have to apologise for their skin. For their acne, pigmentation, texture, lines, or scarring. But the truth is, skin is human. It changes through stress, hormones, lifestyle, pregnancy, ageing, and life itself.

My role isn’t to chase perfection, it’s to help you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.

Sometimes that means treatments, sometimes it means guidance, and sometimes it simply means reminding you that you’re already doing better than you think.

Areas I personally have treatments and why.

I get asked a lot where and why I have anti-wrinkle treatments, so I wanted to share the areas I focus on and why they matter to me personally:

✨ Frontalis (forehead lines) – Smooths my horizontal forehead lines so I look awake and refreshed, without losing natural movement, also helps to give the illusion of a lifted brow!

✨ Glabellar Complex (between the brows) – Softens the “11s” that make me look tired or stressed, helping me feel and look more relaxed - but makes it more difficult to discipline my children!

✨ Nasal Tip Lift – Gives a subtle lift to my nose tip, as I have a natural, but slight droop to the tip of my nose, this enhances my profile naturally.

✨ Depressor Anguli Oris (corners of the mouth) – Lifts the corners of my mouth, as I naturally have downturned corners ie. resting b*tch face!

✨ Orbicularis Oris (around the lips) – Smooths vertical lip lines, maintains symmetry, and gives me a reversion of the lips, creating a naturally fuller look without the use of dermal fillers.

For me, these treatments are about confidence, subtlety, and feeling like myself, not changing who I am. Every area is treated with precision and care so I can look rested, balanced, and natural.. just a refreshed version of me ✨

It is worth mentioning - I DO NOT, and would never reccommend to even the most experienced practitioners, inject myself with anti-wrinkle injections.
