🍁 Autumn Crafts at Manor House 🍁

The residents at Manor House have been getting creative this week with some lovely autumn-themed crafts. Using beautiful shades of red, orange and gold, everyone enjoyed making their own paper leaf wreaths to celebrate the season. 🎨✨

These sessions are always a joy, not only do they brighten up our home with colour and creativity, but they also bring relaxation, conversation and a wonderful sense of achievement.

Our finished wreaths look fantastic and perfectly capture the warmth of autumn here at Manor House. 🍂💛

🍪 A Sweet Treat at Manor House 🍪

Recently, the residents at Manor House had a wonderful time baking their very own Viennese whirls. From mixing and piping to adding those finishing touches, everyone got involved and the results were absolutely delicious!

The best part? Sitting down together to enjoy the freshly baked whirls with a cuppa, sharing smiles, laughter, and a real sense of achievement. Activities like this are a lovely way to bring people together, spark conversation and of course, enjoy a tasty treat. 💛

The lovely autumn sunshine has been shining down on us this week and the residents have been making the most of it with peaceful walks around the gardens. 🌿🍁

There’s something truly special about enjoying the crisp air, golden leaves and gentle sunshine, it lifts the spirits, encourages gentle exercise and creates moments of calm and connection with nature. 🌻✨

🎶✨ An Afternoon of Music & Joy at Manor House! ✨🎶

Recently at Manor House, the residents had a fantastic time singing and dancing the afternoon away with some wonderful live entertainment from Michael. 💃🕺

The music filled the home with energy, smiles and plenty of laughter – it was a joy to see everyone joining in and making the most of the moment. 🎤💖

A big thank you to Michael for such a brilliant performance – you were amazing! 👏

There’s nothing quite like a little self-care to lift the spirits! Recently at Manor House, residents have been enjoying relaxing pamper sessions, from fresh hairstyles in our salon to soothing hand massages and beautiful manicures.

These moments aren’t just about looking good – they’re about feeling good too. A fresh style or a touch of colour can bring confidence, comfort and plenty of smiles. Best of all, it’s a lovely chance to relax, chat and enjoy some well-deserved ‘me time’. 💖

Last Saturday we held our Summer Fair and despite the unpredictable weather, it was a truly fantastic day filled with fun, laughter and community spirit. 💛

A huge thank you to Becca Gee for her wonderful singing and to the talented Dance Fusion Community Dance School for their brilliant performance – you both brought so much energy and joy to the afternoon! 🎶💃

🌴 Armchair Travel to Jamaica 🌴

Recently at Manor House, we swapped the British summer for the sunshine and rhythm of Jamaica, all from the comfort of our home!

Residents enjoyed exploring Jamaica’s beautiful beaches, vibrant music and colourful culture through videos, stories and plenty of lively conversation. We even shared some themed treats, making it feel like a real Caribbean getaway.

Armchair travel is a wonderful way for our residents to experience new places (or revisit old favourites), sparking memories, encouraging discussion and bringing the joy of travel to everyone. ✈️💛

🎨 Aquapaint Sessions – Creativity & Calm at Manor House 🎨

Recently at Manor House, the residents took part in Aquapaint sessions. A dementia-friendly activity that is both calming and engaging. Using just water to reveal vibrant designs, this gentle pastime encourages creativity, stimulates conversation and brings a real sense of achievement.

These sessions are perfect for supporting residents living with dementia, helping to reduce anxiety, spark memories and create moments of connection. Taking place throughout the home, it was wonderful to see the joy and calm these activities brought to everyone who joined in. 💛

🎶✨ Recently at Manor House, our residents had the chance to try their hand at playing musical instruments, with the ukulele proving to be a firm favourite!

It was such a joy to see everyone strumming along, sharing a laugh, and even picking up a few new chords. Music activities like this are not only fun, but they also help to boost mood, encourage creativity and keep the mind active.

Whether it’s a gentle tune or a lively rhythm, music has a wonderful way of bringing people together and our ukulele session was no exception.

🦙 A Special Visit from Teddy & Carlos 🦙

Recently at Manor House, we were delighted to welcome two very special guests, Teddy and Carlos the alpacas! 💛

They spent the afternoon making their way around the home, spreading joy to everyone they met, including those who are nursed in bed. Their gentle nature and fluffy faces brought smiles, laughter and lots of cuddles all around.

Animal therapy like this can have a wonderfully uplifting effect, and it’s safe to say Teddy and Carlos stole a few hearts during their visit!

🎶🛼 A Show to Remember at Manor House! 🛼🎶

Recently at Manor House, we had a truly unique treat, a singer on skates! Gliding through the home with songs and smiles, the performance was full of energy, fun and a little bit of magic. 💫

The residents were delighted by the music, with many clapping along, singing and even having a little dance in their seats. It was a joyful afternoon that brought everyone together and created such a lovely buzz around the home. 💃🎤

Big thank you to our talented performer for making it a day to remember!
