Another great collection of makes today, spooky Halloween lanterns!

With plenty of care and attention to the tricky construction, plus some brilliant colour ideas, these lanterns turned out absolutely fabulous.

Another Week of Makes…

This week in the Maker Space we’ve had it all - lamp projects glowing into life, poisonous potion bottles bubbling with creativity, notebooks looking fab and unique, a finished fairy Garden… and the grand arrival of the Hogwarts Express (well two actually.. Bens making an extra one for a friend😊)

Such a fun mix of imagination, making and magic. Well done everyone.

So many projects on the go…

Notebooks taking shape, lamps coming together, bracelets being crafted, the Kraken display case, a Pokémon game and even a resin river flowing into life. To top it off, the last van automata was finished.

and the new BeaverBot

We created four amazing puppets today - each one packed with personality and imagination.

Cardboard, paint, fun fur, ribbons, gems… and a whole lot of creativity brought them to life.

And for the first time, we fired up the new BeaverBot cardboard cutting machine. Super fun to see what it can do, and it’s already opening up new ideas for builds.

Cardboard + colour + imagination = magic in the Maker Lab.

PET Processing, Paint, Notebooks
and Teen Wolf Tales

Another buzzing day in the Maker Space – bottles prepped and processed, keeping our recycled filament project moving forward.

The croquet builds are nearly complete, and the notebook project is going strong, each one looking fab and totally unique.

Karen had the spray booth today, airbrushing a teddy bear keyring (printed with our own PET filament) and the results were super smooth. A great test of colour and finish.

And just when you thought things couldn’t get any more random… Ben finished his new project - building a full-on encyclopedia of all things Teen Wolf. One for the fans.

Notebooks, Bean Bags..
and Fairy Tales in the Making

Karen (and two of our students) finished up the notebook project today – and they’re looking fab, fun and full of colour and style.

Laura was busy with her photo frame, featuring the brilliant mini-scene “Laura in a hot tub” – definitely one to make you smile.

Trevor kept the DieselMax project moving forward while also prepping bottles for recycling and running a 3D print at the same time - multitasking at its finest.

James has been designing bean bags, the final part needed to complete his mini co****le game – nearly there.

Emma is still adding details to her magical fairy garden, and it’s looking more enchanting by the day. 🧚‍♀️🌿

And last but not least, we now have several croquet games finished – hoops, mallets and all.

A super-productive day with lots of different projects crossing the finish line. Well done everyone.

And a Howling Surprise…

Another busy day in the maker space with projects big and small taking shape.

Dave has started building the case for his epic Kraken project - tentacles need a proper home after all.

Jack is busy with his windmill restoration, while he and Ben are also working on a new lamp project.

Talking of Ben… he’s been putting the finishing touches on his latest creation. We can’t give too much away yet, but if you’re a Teen Wolf fan, you’re going to want to keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Chesney is in full creative flow, designing, 3D printing and painting an ever-expanding collection of amazing animals.

Building, Digging, Fixing – All in a Day’s Making

Makers in motion again today – and wow, what a mix of projects.

Mae and Karen have been deep into the notebook project with Remy and Stitch taking centre stage, both looking absolutely brilliant.

The croquet game is moving forward too… hoops are multiplying and we’ve now started on the mallets – this game is really coming to life.

Meanwhile Caitlin swapped tools for gardening gloves and dug up the potatoes – the most delicious kind of project.

Trevor’s been hard at work sanding down the Dieselmax print, which now has its very first coat of high-build primer – looking slick already.

On the less glamorous side… we have holes in the hall floor. Big shoutout to Ant for doing needed maintenance. Sometimes making isn’t just about art and builds – it’s about fixing the space we share too.

What a day – from cartoon characters to croquet to car speed records, we’ve had it all.
