In these extreme temperatures, remember:
- Never step barefoot on hard landscaping outside, particularly those living with Diabetes or numbness to their feet, these surfaces can burn quickly.
- As tempting as it is to go without, please continue to wear compression hosiery as normal. Swollen legs can crack and weep easily, and as we are all acutely aware, there are flies everywhere at the minute.
- Apply a simple (or prescribed, if you have one) moisturiser; well moisturised skin is better equipped to retain body fluids and reduce the risk of dehydration in the vulnerable.
