Inclusion

Inclusion Inclusion exists to enable and empower individuals to make positive changes. We are one of the HSJ Best Places to Work in 2015.

We provide high-quality, evidence-based, innovative substance misuse and mental health services across England in prison and community settings. In 2002 Inclusion was created as part of the award winning South Staffordshire and Shropshire NHS Foundation Trust (SSSFT). It was created to develop and provide evidence based innovative services to beneficiaries across England. At its inception, Inclusion was created to have the flexibility to provide local solutions to local communities but with the governance and commitment to quality of the NHS. Inclusion has been successful in its endeavours, since 2002 Inclusion has grown to both substance misuse and mental health services in the community, residential and prisons. Inclusion employ over 500 staff, this includes Psychiatrists, counsellors, Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, Drug and Alcohol Recovery Workers, Peer Mentors and Volunteers. We provide mental health and drug and alcohol services to in excess of 19,000 service users per annum across the Home Counties, the Midlands, East of England up to the North of England. The range of services we provide allows us to work with our service users in prisons, extending this into community settings, tackling both their substance misuse and mental health concerns. We believe that people can change, a resounding theme of our services that underpins our success is that of being flexible to changing need, not compromising on quality and understanding our responsibility in achieving the best possible outcomes for service users, families and communities. Inclusion has extensive experience of working alongside and providing services to Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authority Public Health Teams, Police and Crime Commissioners, NOMS, NHS England and a broad range of public and voluntary sector institutions. Partnerships are important to us and we work with a range of providers to ensure there is comprehensive packages of care in place for our service users. We are part of an innovative and forward thinking organisation with an expanding portfolio of services. This means we can offer our staff genuine opportunities to develop their careers, gaining experience working across a number of specialisms. We are renowned for investing in and supporting our employees and have a strong ethos of continuous professional development. We are Health Service Journal 2016 award winners for our naloxone project. To find out more please visit www.inclusion.org/naloxone

If you have had unprotected s*x and are thinking you need a test for s*xually transmitted infections (STIs), it might be too soon to show up in a test!

Clinicians often refer to ‘window periods’ when testing for STIs. This means the length of time it takes from catching an infection, to it showing up on a test.

Want to find out more about STIs and their window periods? Click here ➡️ https://orlo.uk/Qa69F

❗❗ If you believe you may have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours, we would recommend seeking immediate advice on receiving PEP. Visit your local A&E within 72 hours of exposure ❗❗

Today we are celebrating the impact of our Psychological Therapy Service in Thurrock🌟

The service was commissioned in 2021 and aimed to “design care around people’s needs not organisational boundaries”
Later today we will be sharing the evaluation conducted by colleagues at Exeter University and peoples experiences of the care they received.

⚠️ Emergency Alert Test Sunday 7th September at 3:00PM📱

Advice for survivors of domestic abuse (and others with concealed phones):

UK Government will be testing the emergency alert system (EAS) for the second-ever nationwide test. The test causes a mobile phone or tablet to:

🔊 Make a loud siren-like sound that lasts about 10 seconds, even if it's set on silent.
📳 It may also cause a device to vibrate or read out the alert.
🗨️ A message will appear on your screen(s) making it clear the alert is only a test.

If you are affected by domestic abuse and have a concealed mobile phone from your abuser, you may not wish the sound of the alert to draw attention to your phone. How you opt out depends on your device. You can get full instructions on how to opt out by visiting: https://orlo.uk/F60c3

If domestic abuse is happening to you, it's important to tell someone and remember you're not alone. If you do not feel safe or believe there is an immediate threat, call 999.

Any situation where you feel pressured to drink, or drink more than you intended, is peer pressure.

Avoiding peer pressure may be difficult, but consider these tips to help next time you feel pressured.

1️ Plan activities that don’t involve drinking
2️ Be aware of situations you often notice pressure to drink and plan for this
3️ Set a limit before events you are likely to experience pressure
4️ Tell someone you trust that you want to stick to a limit so they can have your back
5️ Set expectations in advance that you won’t be drinking
