There’s been lots of creativity flowing at Limewood as residents prepare for our resident-run market (part of our Dementia Action Week celebrations on Saturday 23rd May 11am- 3.30pm

We’ve been busy crafting a variety of beautiful items, from painting moulds and paper book folding to adding flowers and exploring decoupage. We’ve also been making thoughtful bee water stations using shells and stones – a lovely way to support our local wildlife.

With so many wonderful resources to work with, it’s been fantastic to see everyone getting involved and bringing their ideas to life.

We’re really looking forward to filling our craft stall with all of our lovely handmade creations!

A lovely day in the garden at Limewood 🌱☀️

Residents enjoyed spending time in the garden, making the most of the fresh air and sunshine.

We got our hands dirty planting seeds and potatoes, a simple but rewarding activity that everyone enjoyed. It’s always lovely to spend time outdoors, watching things grow and looking forward to what’s to come.

It’s been a lovely week here at Limewood, filled with celebrations and special moments.

We had the pleasure of celebrating Maurice’s 90th birthday, where he enjoyed a wonderful day surrounded by his family – a truly special occasion.

We also enjoyed a trip out to Northfield Café, where residents relaxed with coffee and cake, enjoyed a spot of people watching and made the most of the sunshine and views of the local wildlife.

To round off the week, we celebrated St George’s Day with a fantastic performance from Michael. Residents gathered in the Fox and Duck for a singalong, a dance and of course a G&T, creating a brilliant atmosphere for all.

A week full of joy, connection and lovely memories. 😊

We recently welcomed Rich for one of our fitness sessions, which our residents always look forward to.

It’s been wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the sessions, building confidence and progressing more each time. The activities are a great way to stay active, boost wellbeing and have a bit of fun along the way.

A fantastic session enjoyed by all – we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Recently at Limewood ☀️

It’s been a lovely mix of relaxation, outings and a little bit of excitement here at Limewood.

Our gentlemen enjoyed a relaxing time with Dan at Cordelles Barbers, leaving feeling refreshed, positive and smelling great. Some residents also took a trip over to the café, enjoying a cuppa and cake while watching the world go by and spotting local wildlife.

With the sunshine making an appearance, we’ve been making the most of it – relaxing outdoors with a cold beer or a glass of wine, listening to the birds and simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

We also had great fun with a Grand National sweepstake, with residents, staff and family members all getting involved. There were plenty of winners, with rosettes and boxes of chocolates handed out to celebrate.

A wonderful few days filled with simple pleasures and shared moments. 😊

Getting creative at Limewood 🌹✨

Residents at Limewood have been enjoying a lovely creative session, starting with opening our flower press to see how our roses had turned out and we were so impressed with how beautiful they looked.

We then used the pressed flowers in a variety of crafts, setting some in glitter glue to create delicate, see-through window decorations and mounting others onto vintage-style cards.

The creativity didn’t stop there, as we also made our own fridge magnets using air dry clay and moulds - each one completely unique.

A wonderful way to combine nature and creativity, with some beautiful pieces to enjoy around the home. 😊

We were incredibly touched to receive a kind donation from a wonderful lady named Wendy, who gifted her collection of reborn dolls to Limewood for our residents to enjoy.

The response from residents was truly heartwarming. Faces lit up, and there were even a few tears from both residents and staff as comfort, connection and gentle moments were shared with our new “babies.”

This thoughtful donation has brought even more meaning to our doll therapy, with the realistic features and comforting weight of the dolls helping to create a sense of reassurance and calm.

Wendy, thank you for such a generous and heartfelt gift. You have made a truly positive and loving contribution to life here at Limewood. 💕

Easter celebrations at Limewood 🐣🌸

We had a lovely time celebrating Easter here at Limewood, with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Residents and families came together for Easter bingo, creating a fun and lively atmosphere for all. There was also lots of creativity in the home, with residents making Easter nest cakes and designing their own Easter bonnets.

On Easter Sunday, we enjoyed sharing gifts with both residents and staff, bringing smiles all round and making the day feel extra special.

A wonderful celebration filled with creativity, connection and lots of happy moments. 💛

Easter at Limewood 🌼🐣

Wishing all of the residents, families and friends a very Happy Easter from everyone at Limewood.

It’s a lovely time of year as spring begins to bloom, bringing brighter days and a fresh sense of warmth around the home. We hope today is filled with smiles, sweet treats and time spent enjoying the little moments.

We recently enjoyed a truly special visit from Stella and her Farm on Wheels, bringing lots of adorable animals and plenty of smiles to Limewood.

Residents had the chance to meet Alfie, Bill and Ben the twin lambs, even helping to feed them their teatime bottles – they were certainly very hungry! There were lots of laughs as we also met Angel and Mischief the rats, who surprised everyone with just how friendly and clever they are.

We were introduced to Juliette the golden goat and her little baby, who is yet to be named, there were plenty of lovely name suggestions shared! Residents also enjoyed cuddles with Ying Yang the guinea pig, who quickly made herself comfortable, and we met Jeff the chicken, who has his own unique story.

Stella shared so many wonderful stories about her animals and it was a joy to listen and learn more about each of them.

Thank you, Stella, for such a heartwarming afternoon filled with smiles, laughter and lots of cuddles. 💛

It’s been a lovely week at Limewood, filled with smiles, celebrations and a little time to unwind.

Residents enjoyed a good giggle watching Calendar Girls in the cinema, sharing plenty of laughs together. We’ve also been celebrating birthdays, making those special moments even more memorable.

Alongside the fun, there’s been time to relax too, with hand massages and nail care sessions offering a calming and pampering experience.
