🎪🤹 Circus Fun at Limewood! 🤹🎪

Recently at Limewood, things got a little bit circus-themed as everyone tried their hand at some fantastic circus skills! From juggling and balancing spinning plates to walking marionette puppets and tossing balls into Lynsey’s very big clown trousers, there was plenty of laughter to go around.

Wearing jester hats and red noses, with staff joining in the fun, the afternoon was filled with smiles, movement and joy. Activities like this are a brilliant way to encourage gentle physical activity while having fun together and judging by the laughter, it was a big hit! 🎈😄

Recently at Limewood, the start of January has been all about slowing down and focusing on wellbeing 🌿

The residents have enjoyed coming together to chat, create and unwind, working collaboratively on a beautiful piece of artwork to display along the high street. Using a mix of materials and images that caught the eye, conversations naturally flowed as imaginations wandered to peaceful scenes such as walks in the park, spotting wildlife, children playing and taking in the beauty of nature.

Alongside this, time has been spent refreshing notice boards, searching for inspiration and creating stunning flower pieces using gentle water painting techniques. Watching the colours blend and soak into the paper created a calming, mindful experience for everyone involved.

Gentle exercise sessions have also been part of the week, helping to keep muscles moving, support mobility and boost motivation.

From group sessions and themed days to gentle exercise, creative projects and social moments, the team carefully plans a wide range of activities to suit different interests and abilities. The aim is to make sure there’s always something to look forward to, while allowing everyone to take part in ways that feel comfortable and enjoyable for them.

🎄✨ Looking Back on a Magical Christmas at Limewood ✨🎄

As we step into the New Year, we’ve been reminiscing about what an incredible Christmas season it was here at Limewood - truly one to remember!

The festivities were filled with joy, laughter and wonderful moments, from lively Christmas parties with brilliant entertainment from Damien and Michael, to very special visits from Donkeyears, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, which brought smiles all around.

Residents also enjoyed a fantastic Alice in Wonderland pantomime by the Northeast Producers, a beautifully attended Carols by Candlelight service and cosy cinema days featuring The Polar Express and Elf.

Creative sessions were just as popular, with a wreath-making workshop, cheese and wine tasting and a magical armchair trip to Lapland. What better way to round it all off than a fabulous New Year’s Day Masquerade Ball! 🎭✨

It truly was a festive season full of sparkle, togetherness and celebration and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it so special. ❤️

🎄✨ A Magical Week of Christmas Activities at Limewood! ✨🎄

It’s been a wonderfully festive week here at Limewood, filled with cosy moments, creativity and plenty of Christmas cheer.

We’ve enjoyed Christmas movies in the cinema and took an armchair trip to Lapland, snuggling up with blankets, hot chocolate and cuddly plushes while watching The Polar Express.

A real highlight was the visit from Alfie and Vinnie, the sweetest donkeys in their festive hats! Residents loved giving them gentle strokes and hearing all about their lives before retirement. 🫏❤️

We also kept active with fitness sessions with Jack and got creative making our own Christmas table centrepieces and decorative wreaths ready for the celebrations ahead.

Tomorrow we’re looking forward to carols by candlelight with our church group and on Friday it’s time for our big Residents' Christmas Party! 🎉

And the festive fun doesn’t stop there—
✨ Next week brings visits from Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their Christmas outfits,
✨ Cookie decorating,
✨ And a special Christmas karaoke session!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the season together. 🎅💫

We’ve had an incredible week filled with festive fun, laughter and plenty of Christmas cheer!

Our Christmas Market was a huge success! Residents and visitors enjoyed browsing the stalls, winning brilliant prizes on the tombola and warming up with delicious hot chocolates topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

We were also treated to a fantastic pantomime performance of Alice in Wonderland from the Northeast Producers… oh yes we were! The room was full of singing, laughter and a glass of wine (or two!) to celebrate.

Festivities continued with a cosy Christmas crafting day and a tasty food and wine session, complete with cheese selections, chutneys, crackers and more!

And the celebrations aren’t slowing down! Next week, we’re looking forward to:

🫏 A visit from Donkeyears
🎅 Armchair travel to the North Pole
🎬 The Polar Express in our cinema
🌿 Making table centrepieces and natural wreaths
🕯️ Carols by candlelight with our church group
🎉 And the Residents’ Christmas Party on Friday!

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year at Limewood. ❤️

🎄✨ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Limewood! ✨🎄

We’ve been sprinkling plenty of festive cheer around the home this week - decorating our lounges, trimming the Christmas trees and creating a cosy, joyful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

And the celebrations are only just beginning! We’re looking forward to upcoming activity:

We’ve had another wonderfully busy and joyful week!

Our armchair travel took us all the way to Poland, where we explored beautiful sights before settling into the cinema to watch Narnia, with so many scenes filmed there, it was the perfect choice! 🎬❄️

We also enjoyed another fabulous fitness session with Jack, helping us loosen up, stay active and have plenty of laughs along the way.

Our regular church group joined us to talk about Advent and share some much-loved hymns. It's always such a peaceful and meaningful part of our week.

A special highlight was welcoming Watson, our new therapy dog. His soft fur and gentle eyes won everyone over instantly. 🐾💙

And of course, we rounded things off with our favourite activities, karaoke, a lively pub quiz and our weekly bingo session, all bringing smiles, chatter and plenty of fun.

❤️🌺 Recently at Limewood… 🌺❤️

We came together last week to mark Remembrance, beginning with a heartfelt two-minute silence, followed by an afternoon of beautiful music from the wonderful Katie Lou, whose sing-along session brought comfort and connection to everyone.

As part of our tribute, we also purchased a female figure from the Royal British Legion to stand proudly alongside our soldier silhouette at the entrance - creating a meaningful and respectful display while supporting an important cause.

Throughout the week, residents also enjoyed a range of activities including:
🖍️ Remembrance-themed colouring
💅 Pamper sessions
❓ A fun pub quiz
🎉 And of course, our much-loved prize bingo!

It was a thoughtful and heart-warming week, filled with reflection, community, and togetherness. ❤️
