We’re proud to have completed our 100th day case joint replacement 🎉 at Rowley Hall Hospital, marking a significant milestone in our orthopaedic service.

Our 100th patient who was under the care of Mr Sabur Malek Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant, Philip, underwent his second hip replacement with us, having had his first in February - both as day case procedures. This achievement follows the successful implementation of the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) pathway, which was designed to deliver faster recovery, earlier discharge, and improved outcomes for patients.

A huge thank you to our team whose expertise and commitment make this possible. We’re proud to be delivering consistent patient-centred care and we look forward to carrying out the next 100!

I was very calm on my admission, not at all nervous and that is thanks to the whole team involved in my procedure and care they were fantastic. I'm four months on now, have been discharged from Mr Malaks care and feel fantastic. Knowing how painful the process was, would I do it again if needed, the answer is YES without hesitation. I would also like to add that I was dreading having an epidural but I knew nothing about it...... I sat in the bed in anaesthetics and woke up in bed in my room. How great was that. All I can say to anyone reading this is for me it's been life changing, at the age of 56 I was always frightened of falling as my knee often gave way, now I'm jumping for joy........well not quite Thank you Mr Malek and all your team.

Rowley Hall Hospital, a Ramsay Health Care facility, participates in the NHS Patient Choice program, allowing NHS patients to choose it for their hospital treatment. This means that if a patient's GP refers them for treatment, they can opt to have their care at Rowley Hall Hospital, or another participating hospital, instead of being automatically assigned to a specific facility.
