Social care is fast-paced — there's always something to do: personal care, meds, meals, calls, paperwork. It’s easy to get caught up in the tasks.

But we must never forget the social part of social care. For some, today could be their last. Every moment matters. Every smile, every chat, every small kindness counts.

So, even on the hardest days — when it’s busy, stressful, or overwhelming — remember why you chose this work. You’re here to care, connect, and make a difference.

Our Social Support is all about bringing joy, comfort, and connection to someone’s day — whether it’s a chat over a cuppa, help with a favourite hobby, or getting out and about in the community.

🎉✨ HE’S ONLY GONE AND DONE IT! ✨🎉

We’re bursting with pride to announce that our very own Ben, Registered Manager of Affexa Care, has been shortlisted for a Staffordshire County Council Dignity in Care Award! 💚🙌

Ben doesn’t just talk about dignity—he lives it. Whether he's knee-deep in policies, supporting our team through thick and thin, or checking in with the people we care for, his heart is always in the right place. 🫶

This award recognises people who go above and beyond to champion respect, kindness, and compassion in care—and if that doesn’t scream BEN, we don’t know what does!

Let’s give a huge round of applause 👏, some confetti 🎊, and maybe even a cheeky cuppa ☕ to celebrate this fantastic achievement.

🏅 Well done, Ben! You’re already a winner in our eyes.

Affexa Care is proudly standing with 💙

Social care has long been underfunded — with broken promises, unrealistic commissioning rates, and local councils unable to meet the true cost of delivering high-quality care. Homecare Association has made it clear: providers simply cannot continue to absorb these pressures while trying to do right by the people we support and the care teams we value so much.

We’re disappointed to see that no relief has been offered to care providers in the recent changes to NIC contributions — a decision that feels like yet another blow to a sector already stretched to its limits.

Leigh Ingham MP — what hope is there for care providers in Stafford and The Villages? How are we expected to recruit, retain, and deliver exceptional care when national decisions continue to overlook the realities we face on the ground?

We need action. We need investment. We need real recognition of the vital role care providers play in our communities.

Staffordshire County Council

Today, the House of Commons rejected crucial amendments to the NICs Bill, sealing the fate of thousands of care providers and the millions who rely on them. This decision dismantles the core principles of the Care Act 2014 and delivers a devastating blow to our sector.

Providers Unite will not stand by. We are mobilising over 4,000 care and support organisations to take action—lobbying MPs, pressuring local authorities, and demanding urgent change. The fight isn’t over. Join us. 💚

🌟 Shoutout to Our Incredible Team! 🌟

We are beyond proud to share this amazing feedback we have received!

"The professionalism and care received over the last few weeks from all the carers and management has been exemplary. After a very bad and stressful experience with another company, it has been such a relief to now receive such excellent standards of care for Dad. To have the communication and knowledge after every visit to know what has been done, how Dad is and, despite all the challenges that we are having with Dad, I feel he is being looked after as well as possible."

A huge well done to Shannon, our Assistant Service Manager, and the entire team who have worked so hard to provide the very best care and support. Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion truly make a difference in people’s lives.💚👏

Affexa Care Services - Our Story

Affexa was born in 2015 out of a desire to change how social care, specifically domiciliary care is perceived by the wider community - low paid wages, unhappy workforce, poor staff training and high staff turnover. We aim to offer the complete opposite! We encourage our team to have fun and enjoyment whilst at work as this makes for a better service thus giving the customer a better standard of care.

Many people who work within the sector of community care will say that they feel they do not receive the respect they deserve, especially from other professionals. Maybe this comes from a misconception of the importance of the role, or maybe from the perceived view of poor staff training (‘care workers don’t know anything’). The Registered Manager of Affexa Care Services has first-hand experience of working within the field of community care and has a full understanding of how care workers feel due to personal experience of many negative interactions with other professionals, hearing comments such as ‘how do you know? You’re just a carer’. This is upsetting that such a crucial service is seen with such negativity. It is a fact, that care workers are a major part of the health and social care sector and without them, the sector would be unsustainable. There is an increasing demand for care workers with an increase in complex care being required. We need to respect each and every individual who works in care to ensure the services are available when we need them!

Affexa is trying to make positive changes! To enable it to do so, it recruits only those with the right attributes, dedication, and passion for the sector.
