Be comfortable in your own skin.
Know who you are.

Understand deeply that what people do is never a reflection of you and is always their perception of life.

You are not for everyone and they are not always for you.

When you are not included, invited, or considered, whisper to yourself, “Thank you for the space necessary in my life for the people that matter most to me. I am blessed.” 💚

(The older I get the less I feel the need to be included, understood, or accepted.-unknown)

“You are not here just to fill space or to be a background character in someone else's movie. Consider this: nothing would be the same if you did not exist. Every place you have ever been and everyone you have ever spoken to would be different without you. We are all connected, and we are all affected by the decisions and even the existence of those around us.”

Often, we will tell ourselves we are lazy when we are actually battling against executive dysfunction. Laziness and executive dysfunction are two distinct concepts, although they may sometimes appear similar on the surface.

Laziness is a general lack of motivation or effort to engage in activities that require physical or mental effort. Executive dysfunction is difficulty with planning, organising, task initiation, working memory, flexibility, self-regulation, self monitoring, and time management.

While laziness may involve a conscious choice to avoid effort, executive dysfunction is more about challenges with certain executive functioning skills such as task initiation that can impact a person's ability to effectively carry out tasks, even if they want to.

So important to recognise this.

At Christmas there’s a lot of pressure to be perfect and have it all. We see adverts showing happy families in matching PJs, huge piles of expensive presents, nobody is having a drunken row, grieving for a loved one, struggling with finding money for their Christmas dinner or feeling lonely in these adverts.
The Samaritans have a free number - 116 123 (UK). A simple copy and paste might save someone's life.
