Just a typical Monday for me

Work
Breakfast
School run
Run
House admin
Work again
2x school pick ups
Kids clubs
Work
Prep for next day

Nothing fancy.

Nothing perfectly planned.

Just fitting everything in where I can.

Some days the run feels strong.

Some days it doesn’t.

Some days everything flows.

Some days it’s chaos.

But this is what consistency looks like in real life.

Not perfect routines —

just showing up in the middle of a full life.

Sometimes, its just about getting it done.

Not thinking

Just doing

Its easy to over-think, stall, then not do. We then beat ourselves up.

That process typically takes longer than if we'd just have done the thing in the first place, rather than over-thinking.

I didn't fancy the run this morning, but I knew I'd feel good for it.

So I got it done

And now I feel great for it!

What do you need to just get done today?

Sometimes it not all about the goal.

Sometimes its about feeling what's happening now

Great run in the sun, nice breeze, my pace.

I wasn't pushing it hard, just at a pace I enjoy to run with.

But why do we do these things?

What's our purpose, our point to it?

What's the bigger picture?

These smaller snaps build into that bigger picture.

They matter.

So have a think, how do I want to feel and why?

That creates your goal with a purpose.

The smaller snaps? Absolutely matter.

4 days ago I ran my first half marathon.

Yesterday I turned 41.

And today?

Back to school runs, work, kids, and everything in between.

No big dramatic change.

No “new me”.

Just a reminder that I can do hard things —

even in a full, busy life.

And honestly, that’s enough 💛

What this race really reminded me…

You don’t need perfect weeks.

You don’t need loads of time.

You don’t need everything to go to plan.

You just need to keep showing up — in whatever way you can.

That’s exactly why I coach the way I do.

Short, realistic sessions that fit into busy lives.

Because real progress doesn’t come from perfect plans —

it comes from consistency.

1 day to go.

And if I’m honest — this training block hasn’t been perfect.

There’s been illness, missed runs, busy days, and a lot of juggling.

But I kept coming back.

And now I’m here.

Not perfectly prepared —

but ready enough.

Tomorrow isn’t about being the fastest.

It’s about showing myself what I’m capable of.

Also, Next time I'll be here, I'll have finished my first ever half marathon! 🙌

And life still looks like this —

Kids holiday club runs, work, kids, everything in between.

No quiet taper.

No perfect build-up.

Just fitting it in where I can and trusting what I’ve done.

5 days to race day.

Today looked like this:

Lift Lean ✔️

Work ✔️

Kids ✔️

Not a big training day.

Not anything exciting.

But this is what the final stretch actually looks like —
holding everything together while still showing up where you can.

Final short run tomorrow, then into race week.

No perfect prep.

No perfect conditions.

Just doing what I can, with the life I’ve got.

And that’s enough 💛

👏 I'll likely to have consumed as much food (meeeaaat!!!) as possible, based on previous long run experiences

🥂I'll have had my first alcoholic drink since 2nd January and likely be legless after a sniff 😅
