What is a learning disability?

I have been working in the home care industry for 9 years now - starting my career as a home care worker. From the moment I began my journey, not only did I experience many challenges along the way, my perspective of what I thought care and support was so different from what I thought it would be. It opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking - I gained an understanding and compassion for the clients I cared for and being able to make a difference to them would not only be just a job to me.
From starting as a care worker, I have developed and grown within my career, I have worked in various positions in the care sector and have gained not only qualifications on paper but a wider understanding of the overall commitment to providing person centred care which is unique and tailored to each individual .
I joined SenaCare Services in April 2023 where I achieved my certificate of registration as registered manager. I enjoy that my role varies from day to day. I get much satisfaction from assisting my care workers to continue providing quality care to our services users and working with a team that is committed to making a difference.
