Our residents had a lovely outing today. They went for some retail therapy and a meal at the Frenchgate shopping centre. Forget Fry -day, they decided to have a hearty meal of fish and chips on a Thursday!

Gentle exercise is important for promoting independence and improving mental wellbeing of our residents. Oldfield House residents have regular gentle exercise sessions throughout the week.

A "Tools down" moment is scheduled everyday at Oldfield House. It is a special moment when all staff stop working, but play, mingle and interact with residents. This gives them that extra special touch and connection which helps everyone come out of their "shell". Today, everyone had a brilliant time whilst participating in the parachute game.

The soft feel and the gentle calming rhythmic movements of chicks, left our residents in awe. Our Oldfield House residents had a beautiful day today with a different kind of therapy. Spending time with chicks can reduce anxiety levels and encourages shared joy and conversations. The residents' smiles define joy and happiness.

"Play your cards Right" was the theme today with the Legendary Brucie. Oldfield House residents had a fun filled day playing cards, whilst remembering Sir Bruce Forsyth.(Mhsrip) .

A simple combination of the crunch of a packet of crisps, the condensation of cold beer and the rustle of the newspaper is enough for our gentlemen to open up and enjoy the moment. Oldfield House gentlemen spent the afternoon, talking, laughing and creating those special bonds.

Activities like magnetic darts help strengthen hand-eye coordination, encourage focus, and promote gentle movement, all of which are especially beneficial for our residents. 🎯

A heartfelt thank-you to our generous family members for donating the magnetic darts board, allowing our residents to enjoy this engaging game safely while sharing smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments together. 💕

Creating Valentine’s Day centerpieces gives our residents a chance to express themselves and feel a sense of purpose. Through color, texture, and creativity, art supports cognition and fine motor skills while bringing joy and meaning to the moment.
