We are pleased to update that normal services have resumed today following yesterday’s technical issues that all GP practices faced across Tameside. Although we had prepared for a short outage this resulted in systems only becoming available at 6.25pm.

Although we was able to inact our business continuity plans swiftly to mitigate the disruption and the team worked hard to continue services, this has resulted in additional work today.

We have made the decision to reduce the number of requests today to ensure those who enquired yesterday are prioritised and that we are operating safely.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and your understanding.

** IMPORTANT PATIENT UPDATE **

Weight management in Greater Manchester

You may have seen this week in the media that the injection (Mounjaro) is available in primary care on the NHS for weight loss if eligible (BMI >40 and at least 4 health conditions from a specific list. )

Mounjaro and similar weight-loss drugs are NOT currently available on NHS prescription anywhere in Greater Manchester, including GP practices, pharmacies, hospitals, or specialist weight management services.

This decision has been made by NHS Greater Manchester who has confirmed that the roll-out will be made in stages.
