BlackCat Workshop is a small woodworking business based near Stamford Bridge, York. Run by Neil 'Sid' Porteus, using over 30 years experience of making most things wooden! The business has/is constantly having to change due to countless issues! From a fire in 2016, through Covid 19 and CofL turmoil and in Jan 2025 suffering a stroke and battling to keep operating...

I'm now mainly specialising in smaller woodwork projects that can be made in my workshop. Please check my posts for updates, products made, prices etc. I'm not a stockist, items are mainly made to order but i do try to keep some smaller items in stock. Bespoke job enquiries will always be considered but I don't have access to many types of wood and have limited tools so unfortunately some jobs can't be taken on. Never any harm in asking though!

Are you able to help a BlackCat survive the winter? 🐈‍⬛

He's starving, his evil relations Big Fat AmazonCat and cheap nasty TemuCat are so powerful and bloated after being constantly overfed and they're still gobbling down every scrap going, barely a nibble left.
BlackCat tries his best to get some attention and a few wonderful people are kind enough to save him some scraps but sadly the lure of it being so easy to line billionaires pockets from continents far away is just too big...

Could you help me pinch a few extra morsels off those evil bloated monsters? I've got some lovely unique things made and available at the minute, some are just £1! 🙏

I've also got some FREEbies/rejects available, these are offered to anyone that calls in! And there is absolutely ZERO obligation to buy anything, it's just nice to see lovely people! 💕 🐈‍⬛
