Nice memory of our training in China post graduating with a BSc Hons in Chinese Medical Acupuncture at the Univeristy of Lincoln 2005. We were at Guangdong Province Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated with Guangzhou University in 2008. This photo also got me thinking about terms we have become familiar with or boxed into over time: Complementary Medicine, Traditional, Western and Eastern Medicine, Integrated Healthcare, Amalgamated, etc. When really, in the UK, a good way of looking at it is as Diversified Healthcare. We had some lovely messages last week coming through. It’s great to know patients are on cloud 9! We do love all the feedback we receive and to know you are so happy to have achieved milestones that were thought to not be reachable. For me as her acupuncturist I was grateful and pleased to provide our expertise and care for sisters! Several years ago I helped her sister fulfil her fertility, and helped her achieve her family hopes and now her younger sister who also unfortunately had experienced fertility issues. 💖

It is great to see the treatment management of Endometriosis being advocated for in the House of Commons. Mr Speaker! I have a few things I’d like to say about the treatment management of Endometriosis

Endometriosis UK link to the British Acupuncture Council, and its members. This is helpful as it raises awareness of the role of acupuncture as well as how to find an acupuncturist in the healthcare sector on an accredited register.

Research indicates that acupuncture can reduce pelvic and menstrual pain. In fact, the authors’ of this study conclude that acupuncture should be considered in the overall management of endometriosis.

Aquilia associate Sandra Bird BSc Hons, PGDip, MBAcC, RCHM took on an interesting complex case study this week. Whereby she will prescribe Chinese herbal medicine to help manage the localised and broad impact of the condition. At Aquilia we are research minded and look forward to reviewing other markers as part of a collective research process.
