We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from anyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, sex, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Thank you. We are appealing for witnesses who saw a robbery in which a man was kicked and punched to contact us.

Between midnight and 12.30am on Saturday, 17 January, a man staying in a tent in the Wellhead Park area of Bourne heard noises outside.

After looking out and asking what was happening, the man was kicked and punched by three men. Both his phone and his bank cards were stolen.

Following this incident the man packed up his tent and walked into the town centre, when a couple gave him a lift to a hospital in Peterborough.

We do not know the identity of those who provided the man this lift – nor exactly where they picked him up from - and would urge them to come forward to speak to us.

The man sustained injuries that were not life-threatening nor life-changing.

The three attackers have been described as:

➡️ First male: white, 5ft 8ins tall, medium build, between 30 and 40 years old, with short hair. He was wearing jeans, a dark-coloured puffa style jacket/coat and what are believed to be trainers. He was not wearing a mask or balaclava and was clean shaven and not wearing glasses.

➡️ Second male: White, 5ft 10ins tall, chubby, aged in his 30s, with a very short skinhead haircut. He was wearing a T-shirt, dark tracksuit-style trousers, and white trainers believed to be of the Kappa brand. He had stubble, and did not wear glasses.

➡️ Third male: White, aged in his 20s, around 6ft 2ins tall, with a muscular/chubby build. He was wearing a puffa coat, dark coloured jeans, a dark-coloured beanie hat and black Doc Marten-style boots. He had a moustache, dark hair with a long fringe and did not wear glasses.

If you saw this incident, or were the couple who provided the lift to Peterborough, we want to hear from you as part of our investigation.
