A week today ( Saturday 13th September) is our Annual MacMillan Coffee morning in the village hall 10.30-12-30.

It would be lovely to have some yummy cakes for folk to enjoy with their coffee (or tea!) or to take away whole bakes for a small donation.

If you’d like to contribute your baking skills please let me know on southluffenhamvillagehall@gmail.com

Any donations will be really appreciated!!

We will also have a visit from Karen Newman from 11am from the CallConnect Bus service to explain how it works and answer any queries you may have now we don’t have a regular bus service in the village. Do pop along and see her as we know there have been many questions about this on FB!

So - don’t forget to pop along and enjoy the morning together catching up, having a coffee and indulging in a little bit of something yummy 😋

The weather is looking glorious tomorrow - just right for coming for a coffee and catch up in the village hall before heading out to enjoy the sunshine!

Don’t forget our next coffee morning will be tomorrow (July 12th) hosted by Tim. Any cake donations are always most welcome!

The Parish Council are looking for volunteers to help out with Pond Close and will be at the hall to sign you up and give more information.

There’ll also be the final revised car park proposal displayed in the hall which will be there for the next 3 weeks.

The South Luffenham Village Hall Management Committee (VHMC) has reviewed the detailed feedback from the Parish Council’s village survey concerning use of part of the Parish Field to create a parking area adjacent to the village hall to alleviate current village hall parking issues. Having considered the feedback provided by survey respondents, the VHMC submitted a second revised option for a small parking area for consideration by the Parish Council at their meeting on 3 July 2025. The Parish Council gave some further minor feedback following their discussion on 3 July, which the VHMC has incorporated in this revised and final proposal.

The Parish Council meeting on 4 August will consider this revised proposal and confirm their agreement in principle at that meeting. If anyone has any further feedback they would like to give in advance of this meeting, please email them to chair@southluffenham.community or contact one of your Parish Councillors.

The proposed area of the car park will be marked out on the field from Friday and the plans will also be in the VH for Saturdays Fika Coffee morning and left in the hall for the following 3 weeks.

It was a real pleasure hosting the wedding reception for Joe and Cara this weekend. They dressed the hall beautifully and had a wonderful day. They also fed back there were lots of lovely comments about the hall which is always so pleasing to hear!

Just to let you know there’s a wedding reception in the Village Hall tomorrow. Also setting up today may create some disruption along Hall Lane. They have permission to also access the Parish Field.

What a fabulous BBQ Quiz event we had at the Village Hall tonight ! 52 quizzers ( plus one baby!) had our brain cells taxed by Keith and Laura and the committee put on a tasty BBQ. Thanks also to Tim for running the bar - we couldn’t do it without everyone’s support!

The Christmas Quiz will be on Friday 12th December - get the date in your diaries now!!

SUMMER QUIZ AND BBQ - Sat June 14th
Our quiz evening held in December has been so popular we’ve decided to see if everyone’s brain cells are up to the job in the summer months too! Keith and Laura have agreed to run the quiz for us again and are already compiling the questions to get us all thinking!
The date for your diary is Saturday 14th June at 7pm. £15 per ticket including BBQ supper (vegetarian / GF option available). There will be a bar available (cash or card). Teams up to 6 people.
