Our Village Hall is a former WW1 hut which has been on site in the village since 1922.

It is used for Stay and Play group, Pilates, Teas, Zumba, Yoga and dance lessons and is available for hire.

Our first Fika coffee morning for 2026 will be held on Saturday January 10th hosted by Tracy and Jason.
Any cake donations are always most welcome! (We promise no more mince pies!!)
Fika means making time for friends to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat - what’s not to like!
See you on Saturday January 10th 10.30am - 12.30pm

We’re pleased to be supporting the village Carols on The Green again this coming Saturday at 6pm. Tracy will be leading the carols as usual so wrap up warm and bring your best singing voices (and a torch!) then come and enjoy mulled wine and mince pies in the village hall afterwards.
A cash collection will be made for LOROS so don’t forget to bring any loose change (or notes!) with you.
The church will also be handing out Christingle kits to all the children too.

LAST FIKA OF THE YEAR THIS MORNING!

The morning after the night before….
We’ll be up at the hall 10.30-12.30 serving coffee and treats.
A huge thank you to all of those who have supported the Fika coffee mornings and Friday teas throughout 2025. As well as raising a few pennies for the hall which is much appreciated the connections we make having a chat over a hot drink and a treat are invaluable 🥰

Thank you to everyone who supported the village hall coming to the quiz tonight raising well over £1000! The hall was jam packed and Keith and Laura tested everyone’s brain cells to the max🧐
We are so lucky to have such a supportive community in the village and it was lovely to have some ex villagers coming back and joining in too ( and winning! 🥇😂).

Reminder for quizzers tonight -
Doors open at 7pm. Quiz will begin as soon as everyone is settled in with a drink (or two!) by 7.30pm.
We have a couple of rounds before supper around 8pm then quiz on into the evening!
The bar is open all evening. 🍷🍺

Village Hall Parking Project Update

Despite lots of hard work and following extensive consultation with villagers and agreement in principle to proceed from the Parish Council, unfortunately we have reached a position where we cannot proceed with the project to create a parking area at the bottom of the Parish Field. There are two main reasons why we cannot proceed at this time, firstly we have not been able to reach agreement with the Parish Council on the outline terms of the lease for the land in a way that would allow the project to secure funding and also that are not onerous. Secondly, the initial cost estimates are significantly higher than expected.
Given the first issue makes grant funding more difficult and the second issue requires more funding than we had planned these two issues together mean it is not viable to proceed at this time.
We will continue to ask users of the village hall to be considerate to local residents when they park their vehicles on the public roads in the village in order to attend classes and events.

Wow! We’ve had a tremendous response for tickets for the Christmas Quiz this year and we’ve now s0ld out and are at maximum capacity.
Apologies if you didn’t get a place - keep your eyes peeled for 2026!

2025 Christmas Quiz - Tickets still available!!

The Village Hall is holding its annual Christmas Quiz on Friday 12th December 7pm. £15 per ticket including supper (vegetarian / GF option available). There will be a bar available (cash or card). Please bring your own brain cells for the questions!

Thank you to all who braved the biblical weather and came out in the storm last night to support the first Village Jam.
It may have been only 22 of you but the atmosphere was fantastic, a proper sense of community spirit, and the feedback was really positive - we’ll definitely be doing it again in 2026!
