What does support really look like in everyday life?

It’s not always obvious.

💡It might be a clock that brings clarity to the start of the day.
💡A device that offers reassurance when leaving the house.
💡A quiet moment of calm when things feel overwhelming.
💡Products that provide assistance to daily house tasks.

These small, consistent supports help make daily life feel more manageable, building confidence, independence and a sense of ease over time.

Because meaningful impact isn’t always big or visible.
More often, it’s found in the moments that simply feel easier.

Today is World Parkinson’s Day 💙

Over 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s, and in the UK, someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes.

Raising awareness is key to improving understanding, support, and quality of life for those affected.

Awareness leads to action — and action leads to change.

🌍 World Health Day

Health is more than medicine.

This World Health Day, we’re reminded that wellbeing isn’t only about treatment, it’s about how we live, connect and feel in our everyday lives.

For many people, health is supported through the small things:
🌍 Feeling safe at home
🌍 Staying connected to loved ones
🌍 Maintaining routines
🌍 Having tools that make daily life easier to navigate

From sensory support and communication aids to products that promote independence, thoughtful design can play a quiet but powerful role in supporting overall wellbeing.

Because good health isn’t just about living longer, it’s about living with comfort, confidence and dignity.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Booth, author and product reviewer, to Ravencourt, where he shared thoughtful insights into the real-world impact of inclusive design. 🗣️✨

During his visit, Michael explored a range of our products, from GPS trackers to companion pets and everyday living aids, offering honest reflections on what truly supports independence, confidence and reassurance in daily life.

Reflecting on his time with us, Michael shared:

“I was embraced with open arms. It was a remarkable day with an exceptional team, all driven by a passion for helping people stay at home for as long as possible and maintain their independence. A truly wonderful day. Thank you.”

It was a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand why thoughtful, practical design matters, and how the right tools can make a meaningful difference in everyday living.

Whether you're exploring accessibility solutions or simply appreciate purposeful design, there’s plenty to discover.

✨ Meet Pippa Scrimshaw

The designer behind the Pippa Tipper, which was developed in collaboration with Ravencourt Living.

Created to support people living with dementia, learning disabilities or visual impairments, the Pippa Tipper is a 28-compartment, lockable automatic pill dispenser that helps make medication management safer and more independent. With built-in alerts, whether a melody or recorded message, it only releases medication when tipped, offering reassurance for users and peace of mind for families and carers.

The Pippa Tipper is a powerful example of what happens when frontline healthcare insight meets thoughtful product design. Collaboration like this transforms lived experience into practical, everyday support.

For Women's History Month, we celebrate women innovators whose ideas make independence more accessible, and whose work continues to improve lives.

At Ravencourt, we’re always looking for products that make a genuine difference in care.

Too often, people living with dementia or neurocognitive conditions spend long periods without meaningful engagement. That lack of stimulation can lead to frustration, agitation, and isolation.

That’s why we’re proud to stock Geri-Gadgets® - thoughtfully designed sensory tools that support calm, engagement and therapeutic interaction.

The idea behind Geri-Gadgets® came from a deeply personal place. Founder Angela Fairhurst created them while caring for her own mother with dementia, recognising that many challenging behaviours were often signals of unmet sensory needs.

“Caring for my mom with dementia taught me that many difficult behaviors are forms of communication trying to find their way out. When I couldn’t find tools that were safe, washable, and respectful for adults, I created Geri-Gadgets® to help bring calm and connection back into the moment.” Angela Fairhurst, Founder of Geri-Gadgets®

Today, these simple but powerful tools are used by caregivers, therapists, educators and care providers around the world.

This Mother’s Day, we’re reflecting on the love and care that inspires innovations like Geri-Gadgets®.

*The photo featured shows Angela’s mother holding one of the very first Geri-Gadgets sensory mats - a moment that helped inspire further product development.

Supporting safer nights through thoughtful innovation.

Residents at Connaught Court care home in York recently trialled a new fall-prevention device designed to help reduce night-time accidents. The bedside technology gently detects when someone wakes during the night, lighting up and playing a personalised voice reminder to encourage them to pause and wait for assistance. Early results from the trial showed a reduction in night-time falls and provided reassurance for both residents and care staff.

Created by GP Dr Tom Adler, the device works by sensing movement or changes in light, triggering a calming message from a carer or loved one to help guide safer behaviour during vulnerable moments.

At Ravencourt, we’re proud to stock innovative products like Bide that combine simple design with meaningful impact, helping support independence, safety and confidence for people in care settings and at home.
