We’ve had a wonderful few days making the most of the sunshine here at the home ☀️

Our residents have been getting creative, making beautiful pom poms and paper roses to decorate their walkers and wheelchairs ahead of our upcoming sponsored walk. Sponsor forms are available in the home for anyone who would like to support our amazing ladies and gents 💐

We also enjoyed a little trip out to M&S at Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park for some retail therapy. While some of our ladies were busy shopping, Chris led a fun exercise session for everyone back at the home 💪

Today has been all about the great outdoors. We spent time in the garden sowing seeds and potting colourful flowers to brighten up our space. It’s looking lovely already! 🌼

Liz and Sabrina enjoyed a peaceful walk around Worthington Lakes, spotting ducks, ducklings, and even some large fish. Liz also brought back some beautiful bluebells for everyone to admire 💙

Meanwhile, Tom took us on a spontaneous adventure, choosing random roads and directions. We discovered some stunning scenery and enjoyed exploring new places 🚗

All in all, it’s been a very busy, uplifting, and fulfilling few days for everyone 😊🥰

A busy & joyful few days at Langtree! 🤩

We’ve had such a fantastic and activity-filled few days here at Langtree, with lots of fun, laughter, and plenty of sunshine enjoyed by everyone 🌞😆

Our garden games brought residents together outdoors, making the most of the beautiful weather. From friendly competition to lots of cheering and encouragement, it was wonderful to see everyone socialising, staying active, and enjoying the fresh air 🏏🏈

The pizza-making party was enjoyed as everyone chose their favourite toppings and created their own personalised pizzas. The delicious smells filled the home, and everyone loved sitting down together to enjoy what they had made 🍕

To make it even sweeter, residents also had the chance to decorate their own cakes for dessert. There was lots of creativity with icing, sprinkles, and decorations – and of course, they tasted just as good as they looked 🧁😋

To top it all off, we enjoyed a lovely animal experience over at Lakeside Care Home thanks to Mobile Farm Cheshire. Residents had the opportunity to meet and interact with a variety of gentle animals, creating calm, happy moments and plenty of smiles. These visits always bring so much comfort and joy 🐑🐐🐥

It’s been a truly special few days, full of meaningful activities, social moments, and memories made together 💚

We kicked off our St George’s Day celebrations with a special visit from Sharon the Dragon, who doubled as our quiz master for a fun and friendly competition between our three teams: Bert’s Dragon Slayers, Sunshine Dragons, and the Langtree Knights 🐉 🗡️

A huge congratulations to Bert’s Dragon Slayers, who scored full marks and took the win! 👏

After the quiz, we enjoyed a wonderful St George’s Day banquet, lovingly prepared by our amazing kitchen team — thank you for such a delicious spread!

We rounded off the afternoon with singing and dancing, thanks to the fantastic The Tenor Ladies, with our friends at Norley Hall 🎶

On 5th April at 2:30pm, we will be completing a half-mile sponsored stroll with Worthington Lake and Lakeside around our garden to raise money for our residents' fund 🚶

As a team, we'll be walking 18 laps around the garden to reach the half-mile mark. But that's not it! We'll also be decorating our wheelchairs, walking frames and walking sticks and we'll have prizes for the best decorated 🧑‍🦽‍➡️🦯🏆

We'd love for you to join us, whether that's by completing a lap, cheering us on from the sidelines or showing your support by sponsoring us 👏

We’ve had a busy few days at Langtree!

On Sunday, we enjoyed a lovely taster breakfast, trying out new items we may add to our regular menu. We sampled smashed avocado on toasted bagels with poached eggs, along with French toast topped with fresh strawberries, maple syrup, and cinnamon sugar. Residents and staff all gave these a try, and it was a nice change for everyone 🥑🥚🍓

Afterwards, we sat together to read the Sunday newspapers, discussing recent news stories. Following lunch, we played a game of “Name That Tune,” with Tom beating us all hands down! There were lots of laughs, along with plenty of impromptu singing and dancing 🎶

On Monday, we had a wonderful trip out to Haigh Hall Country Park, and on Tuesday, we welcomed Rise, where Stacey led a seated sports session filled with fun, games, and friendly competition ⚽️

Today, we got creative by painting our own bunting in preparation for St George’s Day. While painting, we enjoyed a singalong to “Land of Hope and Glory,” sharing many fond memories of St George’s Day parades from our younger days in Scouts and Guides 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We also spent time outside in the garden, soaking up some Vitamin D, playing music, and practising our flag waving for St George’s Day. A few games of hoopla in the sunshine brought even more laughter and fun 🌞🤩

Overall, it’s been a busy and sunny week here at Langtree!

We loved having residents from Norley Hall and Worthington Lake last week for our tea party in aid of Dementia UK ☕️

The past couple days have been a mix of sporty and relaxing, our residents have felt like daredevils as they took on the off road scooter whilst some watched from inside having a nice game of dominoes 🎲

Ron has enjoyed a good stint in the gym this week as well other residents and it’s been the talk of the town over the dinner table 🏋️‍♂️

Finally to end a very busy week, our residents decided to sit down together and watch a musical with laughs and also a lot of singing as well as we watched Grease🍿
