Last week, some of the teenagers from Wigan Youth Zone stopped by to interview a few of our residents, with questions ranging from “What superpower would you choose?” to “What’s one piece of advice you’d give?” 🤔

We got some thoughtful answers… and a few not-so-serious ones too! 😆

One thing that’s been clear since we first opened our doors is that our home isn’t just for our residents, it’s for their families and loved ones too! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍💚

We love seeing the home filled with multiple generations each day, particularly on Mondays when Elaine’s granddaughter stops by to lead our armchair exercise class 💪

✨ Another Wonderful Day at Langtree ✨

Today we baked some delicious blueberry muffins at Ron’s request — they turned out beautifully and filled the home with the most amazing smell! 🫐🧁

This afternoon, we visited the Shevington Music in Mind Café, where we were treated to a truly creative and emotional performance featuring the flute and cello. One of our residents described it perfectly as “a magical experience.” 🎶💙

Another fabulous and busy day here at Langtree — full of smiles, music, and special moments!

When Mary discovered that Group Music Ambassador Beth could play her favourite instrument - the flute, she couldn't resist asking her to perform some of her favourite songs 🪈

Of course, Mary invited everyone to the performance, for which she had specially selected the song list. So, this afternoon we gathered in the lounge for our very own flute concert 🎶

🎉 A Day of Celebration! 🎶

Today we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating two very special occasions — Terry and his wife Val’s incredible 60th wedding anniversary and our lovely Kathleen’s birthday! 💍🎂

We marked the day with live music, delicious mocktails, and of course, cake — along with the traditional (and heartfelt!) rendition of Happy Birthday 🎵

We wish Terry and Val a very happy anniversary and Kathleen the happiest of birthdays 💐

Your celebrations were every bit as wonderful as you all are! 💖

🎶✨ Today we held our very first in-home Singing for the Brain session – and what a success it was! 🌟

There was plenty of singing, some dancing, and most importantly, lots of smiles and fun. Our residents gave us such wonderful feedback, and we’re already looking forward to building on this with even more well-loved songs in future sessions 💃🎤

We also celebrated our lovely carer, Lydia, with a surprise birthday cake and a full home rendition of Happy Birthday – such a joyful moment that brought everyone together 🎂🥳🎶

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, and today really showed just how powerful it can be 🎵💛

Our new video captures the beauty of the building, its surroundings, and the stories of some who call Langtree home 📹

Elaine was one of the first residents to move in when the home opened its doors, and since then she’s settled into life at Langtree, while her family have peace of mind knowing she’s happy and safe 🥰
