At the weekend we celebrated Florence's 95th birthday and at her request we had afternoon tea with pass the parcel and stand up bingo 😀

What a lovely day for a walk, followed by tea and cake 🎂

What a busy week in the home already. Tony, Frieda and Mary sweated it out in the gym with Freddy, and there were some impressive workouts 🏋️‍♀️

Residents have been busy making Paddy's Day decorations and enjoying the sun and fresh air 🌞

Dorothy was busy helping out in the kitchen; we had a lovely time using instruments along to musicals; Rene spent some quality time with staff, and Jean attended her three-monthly What's Up meeting with Wigan Council that she takes very seriously 😀

We've also enjoyed the company of the new Standish Care Village Lifestyle & Enrichment Coordinator, Sharon. She's settled in very well 😀

What a lovely Mothering Sunday!

Rita and Mary attended church and were given flowers from Andrew 💐

Everyone else enjoyed families visiting, having wonderful cakes and tea, not forgetting the sweet bags 🍵

Renee's son and his wife enjoyed a lovely massage from Mary, and June, Florence's daughter, surprised residents with cards and presents 💆‍♂️🎁

Today it's been Rita's day! Happy 91st birthday, Rita, which ended with a church celebration with the ladies from St Wilfrids! 🎂

As the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival was today, our men had the pleasure of betting on the horses, and everyone else got hot and sweaty with a workout 🐎👊

Today, we celebrated Jan's birthday, happy birthday, Jan! 🎂

We had fun with ball games, Frieda enjoyed a walk in Parbold with a spot of lunch and back home, we enjoyed painting flowers ⚾️ 💐

Oh, and we had a bit of Tomfoolery with our big red wig! 😅

What a week it's been! It was amazing connecting with the other homes in Standish Care Village.

We've been to Langtree Care Home for seated sports and to Shevington methodist church for singing with instruments.

We hosted a pie and a pint with Lakeside Care Home for a quiz and dominoes in our bar!

Frieda and Tony have enjoyed the gym sessions with Freddy.

Other residents have been busy in the home gardening, cooking, exercising and doing arts and crafts, not to forget playing skittles and other fun activities 😀

This week, we've had great fun spending time with our sister home, Langtree, for some exercise. Jean and Renee enjoyed some seated sports in the garden, and Tony and Frieda had a workout with Freddy in the gym, which they really enjoyed 😉
