🎯 PROPAGANDA I’M NOT FALLING FOR AS AN AUDIOLOGIST
There’s a lot of noise out there about hearing health — and honestly, some of it needs to go. Here’s what I don’t believe 👇🏽
1️⃣ "Everyone with hearing loss needs the most expensive hearing aids"
❌ Nope. The best hearing aid is the one that suits your lifestyle and hearing needs — not just the one with the highest price tag. More expensive doesn’t always mean more effective.
2️⃣ "Audiologists are just salespeople in disguise"
🙄 Let’s stop this narrative. A real audiologist is a healthcare professional, not a product pusher. We diagnose, support, and rehabilitate — we’re not here to hit a sales target, we’re here to help you hear better.
3️⃣ "Once your hearing aids are fit to prescription, you’re fine"
📈 Fitting is just the beginning. You need time to adjust, ongoing tuning, and support to get the most out of your devices. Great hearing care is a process, not a one-time event.
4️⃣ "You can’t do anything about tinnitus – just live with it"
🚫 Wrong. While there may not be a cure, there are plenty of management strategies that work — from sound therapy and CBT to hearing aids and mindfulness. You don’t have to suffer in silence.
🧠 Hearing care deserves better conversations — and that starts with calling out the myths.
Which one of these have you heard before? Let’s talk 💬
