Wonderful session at the Veg Shed today where we welcomed a group of disabled young people under the supervision of staff from Accuro. We made bug 'hotels', wild flower 'bombs' and potted sunflowers to take home. Our thanks to Selina Avery for arranging the session and Andy Piggott for creative carpentry. Great team! For confidentiality reasons we can't publish photos of the group itself.

The whole month of April is Stress Awareness Month with this year's theme being "Lead with love".

Things we can all do are:

- Talk openly and freely about stress and its effects – let's work together to reduce the stigma that is associated with stress.

- Share your coping mechanisms in the comments below – if something has worked for you why not share it. It might benefit someone else too.

- Show compassion and empathy to those who are stressed and anxious – treat them how you would want to be treated if you were experiencing these feelings.

- Look after yourself – take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy. Don’t forget to exercise and eat well, especially when you feel stressed!

Are you on a waiting list for an allotment? Or maybe you're interested but not quite sure about putting your name down?

If so, why not come along to our community allotment open day tomorrow and see how you can get involved. You can either hone your cultivating skills or find out just how rewarding growing your own produce is.

As an added incentive refreshments will also be available ☕🍪

Looking forward to seeing you there!

🚨 Based on this morning’s post – if you missed it, go back and read it. It’s important. 🚨

This morning, we shared the story of a police officer who was struggling in silence for 18 months before finally reaching out for help. If that post resonated with you—even just a little—please know there IS support out there. The hardest step is picking up the phone or sending that first email, but once you've done it, we’re pretty sure you'll feel some relief.

There’s absolutely no point in burning yourself out while giving your all to look after others. Especially if you’re new to the job—you’ve got a long career ahead of you, and your mental and physical health are paramount. The best officers are the ones who recognise when they need support and get it.

To make it easier, we’ve compiled a list of organisations that offer help to serving and retired officers, as well as the wider emergency services. If you or someone you know needs support, please check them out. ⬇️
