π§πΌββοΈπ§π»ββοΈ Who is Yoga for??
Answer....everyone!!! π€
This lovely bunch attended my 'All Abilities' 9.30am class this morning at Ugley Village Hall
I'll be honest, I don't like labelling classes with ability level because what does that even mean??? Who I would deem to be an advanced practitioner is probably not what you expect & has absolutely nothing at all to do with flexibility, whether you can touch your toes or do a deep backbend.....& I mean nothing....
But I do because going to a class can be intimidating & this isn't an hour of a dynamic, strong practice, so the wording needs to reflect that.
My 'All Abilities' classes do have some heat but what one student finds physically hard, to another can feel easy. Our anatomy plays a huge role in what our physical bodies will allow us to do but the physical postures or the asana, are only one limb of our Yoga practice.
Men, women, a range of ages, this is what I love about the community that I have created & continue to grow π€
There is no hierarchy to the versions you take. Props are used to open up, to expand, to get your prana, your energy flowing freely. There's no expectation from me, I generally ask you to leave your expectations of yourself at the door & come in with an open mind & heart β₯οΈ
If you follow me & haven't been to a class before, I'm your incense burning, mantra chanting, Sanskrit teaching, long Savasana with massage kind of teacher....
I'm not for everyone, I don't want to be!! But if what I've said sounds like a bit of you, come along π
