Important Update About SystmConnect

We understand many patients are finding SystmConnect different, and change can be frustrating. However, this system is a requirement under our NHS England contract, so we must follow it.

Key points:

Using the online form helps keep phone lines free for those who cannot use it.

Every request is reviewed the same day. Clinicians decide the safest next step — not every request needs a same-day call.

Urgent issues: usually same-day response.

Routine/admin requests: within 2 working days.

If an urgent form is full, please call reception for advice.

This system helps us prioritise urgent care, reduce queues, and keep everyone safe.

⚠️ Please remember: our staff are here to help. Abusive behaviour is not acceptable.

If you cannot use the online form, call reception — we’re happy to assist.

Thank you for your understanding.

📢 Flu & COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic – Saturday 11th October, 9am–4pm

We’re holding our annual flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic this Saturday for eligible patients.

💉 Appointments are almost fully booked, but if you’re eligible and would like just the flu vaccine, you can walk in on the day — no appointment needed.

⚠️ Please note:
• Walk-ins are for flu vaccines only
• We’re not able to offer walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccines due to limited supply

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Some important updates regarding the way we handle ON THE DAY appointment requests at our practice. As per a new directive from NHS England all GP practices are now required to implement an online appointment triage system from Wed 1st October.

What does this mean for you? Essentially, if you want a same day appointment you will now be required to fill out a form by answering a series of questions online and submit it. Once submitted, a doctor will review the information given to triage your needs. You will then receive either a text message or a phone call with further instructions, which might include booking an appropriate appointment or providing some advice to follow.
Please use the NHS App or SystmOnline via our website to submit a request.
We understand that not everyone has access to online services. If you are unable to use these online tools, don't worry. Our Reception team is here to assist you. They will go through the questions with you either at the desk or over the telephone.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we make this transition to improve our services and ensure a more efficient process for everyone.

📅 Appointment Guide - our new system

From October, appointment requests to see a GP/ANP/Nurse Practitioner must go through our online request form using systmconnect.

Please Note: This is NOT for Practice Nurse appointments, blood tests, Long Term condition reviews - these can be booked in the usual way by telephone or calling in to the practice.

🔗 How to Access the Form
• Visit our practice website
• Use the NHS App
• Call us – our team can text you a secure link

💡 Need help?
If you cannot complete the form due to an access requirement, our reception team will help you.

⏰ Same Day Appointments (including home visits)
• Online requests open at 7:30am
• All requests for same-day care must be submitted by 10:30am

📌 After 10:30am
• You can still submit requests, but these will be for:
• Non-urgent / routine appointments
• Admin queries (e.g. chasing referrals, test results, letters of support, general paperwork)

🩺 How Triage Works
• A Clinician reviews every clinical request
• You may be booked with a GP or directed to the most appropriate clinician for your needs – this could include:
• A Pharmacy
• A mental health worker
• A physiotherapist
• Another member of our healthcare team

🚨 If We Reach Capacity or You Submit Urgent Requests Late
• You may be redirected to alternative services such as:
• NHS 111
• A local walk-in centre
• A&E if the condition is clinically appropriate

💊 Medication Requests
All medication requests must be made through the NHS App, systmconnect or by submitting a paper request.

✅ This new system ensures that your request is reviewed safely and directed to the right clinician, first time.
