Celebrating International Women’s Day with an inspiring message from a remarkable woman we are proud to call our boss, Jean. Here’s to strong leadership, empowerment, and supporting one another every day.
Dear Colleague
As we approach International Women’s Day, I want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate you — not just for what you do, but for who you are.
Every single day within these walls, I see women leading with compassion, thinking with clinical precision, advocating with courage and caring with extraordinary emotional strength.
Care is often described as “soft.”
There is nothing soft about what you do.
It requires grit.
It requires leadership.
It requires resilience.
It requires intelligence.
It requires heart.
In a single shift, you manage complexity, respond to crisis, support families through fear and uncertainty, comfort residents in vulnerable moments, mentor colleagues, and still find the warmth to smile and reassure.
You show up — even on the hard days.
You lift one another.
You hold dignity at the centre of everything.
International Women’s Day is about recognising achievements and honouring strength — including the quiet strength that so often goes unseen. I see it. I see it in the hand you hold, the tears you wipe away, the calm you bring into distress, and the professionalism you demonstrate every day.
You are mothers, daughters, sisters, leaders and role models.
You are skilled practitioners.
You are advocates.
You are the heart of this home.
While the world may not always witness it, you change someone’s world every single day.
I am incredibly proud to work alongside you.
To celebrate you, there are personalised gift bags waiting in the conference room with your names on them — a small token of appreciation for the enormous difference you make.
Stand tall.
Own your value.
Know your worth.
This home is stronger because of you.
With appreciation, pride and admiration,
Jean
