We’re preparing for our Blue Moon Ball on 30th May, celebrating 30 years of Dove Cottage Day Hospice, and we’re looking for auction prizes to help us raise vital funds for local people living with terminal/life‑limiting conditions.
Do you run a business, have a holiday cottage, a unique skill, or know someone who might like to donate something special?

Every prize, big or small, helps us support more families in our local communities. With an auctioneer present on the night, we are looking forward to this being a very dynamic and exciting auction! Hospice care is putting the world to rights with a cuppa, enjoying a hand massage, feeding the birds in our hospice garden, playing a game and having a laugh! Plus so much more! It is not being sad, giving up hope, dull, quiet and gloomy. At Dove Cottage our hospice is filled with laughter, music, song, love and compassion as our guests enjoy and benefit from our care. 💛

If you are lucky enough to have your Mum in your life give her an extra squeeze, a hug or a phone call today. 😍 Let's celebrate every Mum and Mum figure whether they’re with us in person or in spirit and hold onto the precious memories, laughter and love that make Mums so special. 💕

Mother's Day is not easy for everyone though and for those that have lost their Mum's it can be a difficult day. If that's you, think about what you might have done had she still been with you and go and do it anyway. 🥰

Why are we called Dove Cottage? The dove is the symbol of peace, comfort and hope and that's exactly what we offer. A place of safety, filled with kindness and compassion where every patient is warmly welcomed.
We are where hope lives and we are improving local lives every single day. Just like the dove who shelters its young beneath it's wings, we have been holding local families for the last 30 years beneath ours. 💛

Today is and we couldn't be prouder of our Founder whose vision 30 years ago is still delivering hospice care to our local community. The theme this year for International Women's Day is Give to Gain which is exactly how our community responded 30 years ago when a seed of an idea was starting to form. We couldn't have achieved what we have achieved without our community. 30 years ago, you gave your time, your enthusiasm and your financial support and 30 years on you still are, and together we have gained a hospice which is strengthening and supporting our community, improving local lives and making a meaningful difference. Thank you everyone.💛

There's going to be some delighted faces next Sunday on Mothers Day as we have received some lovely orders for these glass flowers. We will be taking orders until Wednesday 11th March for Mother's Day so there's still time! These everlasting hand-crafted flowers can be purchased for the special offer price of £25 each. Every flower ordered from us includes a donation to the hospice. Made from fused glass with a copper stem in a wide range of colours and designs. They look lovely in a vase, but equally are garden hardy. These flowers have been individually handcrafted from glass. 🌼
