Mr Barry Parker of Bolsover has passed away at Millfield Care Home aged 84.

Born in Bolsover, Barry had always lived locally and had been employed as a crane driver at Coalite Chemicals from 1964 to 2004. He was a well known local footballer and a lifelong Wolves supporter.

Barry leaves children - Russ and Hayley, and grandchildren - Billy and Brydie.

A private cremation will be taking place.

Mr Kevin Wale of Staveley has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 74.

Born at Mastin Moor, Kev was a lifelong resident of the area. After leaving school, he was a mineworker for 27 years. From 1993 until his retirement, Kev worked at Pennine Foods.

In his spare time, Kev was interested in shot guns and clay pigeon shooting. He also enjoyed watching television.

Kev was predeceased by his wife – Linda in April this year. He was also predeceased by daughter – Kathryn. He leaves daughter - Debbie, grandchildren – Lee, Kirsty and Chloe, and greatgrandchildren – Kody, Maisie, Finley, Lacey, and Brady.

Kev’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd October at 9.50am.

Mr Kevin Woodcock of Duckmanton has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 66.

Born in Chesterfield, Kev was a lifelong resident of the area and had lived in Duckmanton for over 40 years. He was a stay at home dad.

In his spare time, Kev loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed darts, snooker, listening to music and a good old film.

Kev was predeceased by his partner - Tanya Folger and son - Jay. He leaves children - Brett, Amanda and Bridgit, and grandchildren - Hope, Cory, Connie, Kristen, Cherry, Rae, Cee-Cee, Jenson, Anaya, Enola and Kamarni Ann, twin brother - Steve, and nieces - Tracy, Samantha and Tara.

Kev's funeral will take place at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Staveley, on Thursday 12th September at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Brimington Cemetery, where Kev will be reunited with Tanya and Jay.

Mr John Sedgwick of Staveley has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 85.

Born in Chesterfield, John was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed as a printer until retiring 15 years ago.

In his spare time, John’s interests included Fellowship of the Services, church, local history and his family.

John was predeceased by his wife Cynthia. He leaves sons – Andrew and Ian, and four grandchildren.

John’s funeral will take place at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Staveley on Tuesday 3rd September at 11:30am.

Mrs Joan Squires of Mastin Moor has passed away at home, with her family, aged 91.

Born in Poolsbrook, Joan was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired dinner lady.

In her spare time, Joan’s interests included music, bowls, baking, bingo, and dominoes. She enjoyed holidays and spending time with her family.

Joan was predeceased by her husband – Des Squires, in 1991; and her partner – Ern Spencer, earlier this year. She was also pre-deceased by son – Martin. She leaves son – John, daughters-in-law - Gill and Karen, grandchildren – Jamie, Jo, Emma, Lewis, Ellis, Kelsey and Jan, and eight great grandchildren.

Joan’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Wednesday 28th August at 2:50pm.

Mr Tim Stuart of Staveley has passed away at his sister’s home aged 62.

Born in Chesterfield, Tim was a lifelong resident of the area and had been employed as a sales assistant at Marks and Spencer.

In his spare time, Tim enjoyed listening to music, reading, cracking jokes and playing with his grandchildren.

Tim leaves his wife – Caroline, daughters – Sam and Gayle, son-in-law – Lee, and grandchildren – Trinity and Tyler, and sister - Kath, and brother-in-law - John.

A private family funeral will take place.

Mr Wayne John Smith of Barrow Hill has passed away at home aged 53.

Born in Chatham, Kent, Wayne had lived locally for the last 41years.

In his spare time, Wayne loved gardening and collecting oriental statues.

Wayne is the son of Wendy and the late John Smith. He leaves nieces - Kodie and Beth, nephew - Billy, brothers - Jason and Matt, and sisters - Leah, Mandy and Tracy.

Wayne's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday 25th July at 9.50am.

Johnny Andrew Haystead of Grangewood has passed away at home aged 57.

Born in Chesterfield, Johnny was a lifelong resident of the area.

In his spare time, he enjoyed socialising, playing pool and following Liverpool FC.

Johnny leaves his sisters - Joyce and Elizabeth, and brother - Mark.

A private cremation has taken place.

Mrs Carol Longden of Staveley has peacefully passed away at home aged 75.

Born in Doncaster, Carol moved to Poolsbrook around 1968/9 before moving to her final home in Lowgates not long after. Carol was a stay at home mum following the birth of her first son in 1969.

Carol loved watching murder mystery series such as Agatha Christie, Poirot and Midsummer Murders. She also enjoyed doing the daily puzzles in the newspaper and going out on her mobility scooter, especially for Fish and Chips.

Carol was predeceased by husband – Frank, partner - Neville, and sons – Adrian and Chris. She leaves son – Darren – granddaughter – Sophie, sisters – Rita, Wendy, Gail, Lorraine, and Beverly, brother – John, step-daughters – Rose and Janet, step-grandsons – Carl and Paul, and step-granddaughter – Sarah.

Carol’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Wednesday 3rd July at 9.50am.

Mr Stuart Alan Bannister of Stonegravels has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 63.

Born in Poolsbrook, Stuart was a lifelong resident of the area. Stuart worked at Markham No. 4 for 7 years and was then employed with various companies, including Quartex Chemicals and Flogas. More recently, he worked as a cleaner.

In his spare time, Stuart enjoyed fishing and DIY (he always had a hammer in his hand). He also liked socialising and parties, and loved his dogs.

Stuart leaves his wife – Janet, daughter – Sarah, grandson – Mackenzie and sister - Sue.

Stuart’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday 20th June at 9.50am.

Mr Stephen Wilson of Tapton has passed away at Ashgate Hospice aged 69.

Born in Glasgow, Stevie had lived locally for the last 31 years. He had been employed as a service engineer on Air compressors, retiring in 2018.

In his spare time, Stevie enjoyed cruising, gardening, reading, and watching sport. He loved spending time at his caravan and spending time with the grandchildren.

Stevie leaves wife - Angela, stepsons - Craig and Lee, daughters-in-law - Toni and Lisa, and grandchildren- Thomas, Sophie, and Emma.

Stevie's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday 4th June at 12.30pm.

Mrs Anita Beryl Longden of Barrow Hill has died at home aged 61.

Born in Chatham, Kent, Anita had lived locally for most of her life.

Anita's interests included 60s and 70s music, puzzles and eating out. Her biggest passion was her family.

Anita leaves husband - Christopher, children - Craig, Emma and Daniel, mum - Margaret, dad - Paul, and grandchildren - Alex and Ollie. She was pre-deceased by grandson - Noah.

Anita's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Monday 3rd June at 9.50 am, followed by food and drinks at the Spa Lane Vaults, Chesterfield.

Mr David John Hewitt of Newbold has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 67.

Born in Heath, Dave was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed as a master armourer for 39 years, retiring in 2023.

His spare time was taken up as a bass player in heavy metal and rock bands. Dave also had a great passion for history, especially the First and Second World Wars. He also spent many happy hours dog walking, firstly with Diesel, and then Chedder.

Dave leaves his wife - Rebecca, son - Ben, stepson - Jake, and grandchildren- Sophie, Mercedes, and Ava Mae.

Dave's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday 28th May at 10.30am.

Mr Robert Tingle of Renishaw has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 57.

Rob was born in Sheffield and was a lifelong resident of the area. Before retiring due to ill health, he had been a company director involved with telecoms, phone systems, and air softing sales.

In his spare time, Rob enjoyed x-box, air softing, cars and technology. A cat lover and fly fisher, he also had a keen interest in military history.

Rob leaves his wife – Samantha, sons – Harvey and Oliver, brothers – Dave, Steve and Kevin (twin), nephews – Callum and Lewis, niece – Hannah, and great niece – Emily.

Rob’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Wednesday 15th May at 9.50am. Following the service, there will be an opportunity to join the family at Barlborough Village Hall for refreshments and another chance to share your memories of Rob.
