We were pleased to welcome the New Hospital Programme (NHP) Digital Director, Sarah Thomas, and her team to Airedale last week to discuss the plans for our new hospital.

The visit provided an important opportunity to discuss national digital updates, progress with our new hospital, as well as challenges, opportunities and next steps which will help to progress the digital design for our new hospital.

We were proud to attend Bradford Council's Built Different Bradford event last night, as one of their seven game-changing projects.

During the event, we shared the opportunities that our new hospital presents, including:

• Improved design of hospital spaces
• Supporting community development
• Delivering social value
• Reducing environmental impact

The event showcased Bradford’s ambitious plan for growth, regeneration and skills over the next ten years. Other game-changer projects include Southern Gateway, Mass Transit, City Village, Towns Transformation and Hy-Bradford.

We recently attended the Wharfedale and Craven Integrated Neighbourhood Health Team Workshop to look at how care can be brought closer to people’s homes.

The event, arranged by the Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Alliance (WACA) and Bradford District and Craven ICB, brought together primary care, community care, the local authority, and the voluntary community sector.

Freya Sledding, Clinical Director for the Securing the Future programme, gave an update on the new hospital and the opportunities it presents to bring more hospital care into community settings, one of the three shifts in the government’s 10 Year Health Plan for England.

Plans for our new multi-storey car park have been shaped by suggestions from patients, local people and staff.

The new car park is a key part of our plans to get our site ready for our new hospital. It will improve parking with more spaces, wider bays, and more accessible and family parking!

Our digital team has started looking at the types of innovative technologies that could be used in our new hospital.

As part of this work, they have had demonstrations of patient monitoring systems and handheld technologies which help to enhance patient communication and care.

🚗 We are excited to announce that we have submitted plans for our new multi-storey car park and access road.

The new car park is a key part of our plans to get our site ready for our new hospital. It will improve parking with more spaces, wider bays, and more accessible and family parking!

The planning application, once validated, will be open to public comment on the Bradford Council planning portal for the normal 21-day statutory consultee period. 👇

- Meetings will mostly be in-person with some online

You may recall in July we held two workshops to start getting views about what is important to you as we start to design the new hospital.

We really appreciate everyone who gave up their time to attend and share their views and experiences.
