Looking back over March, our home came together in the most wonderful way to support an incredibly important cause, as we marked a special Wear a Hat Day filled with meaning, compassion, and community spirit. On a day dedicated to raising awareness, our residents and team proudly put on their favourite hats, each one telling its own story while standing together for those affected by brain tumours 🎩🌟

Throughout the day, there was a real sense of unity as everyone joined in, from residents choosing their most colourful and creative hats to staff sharing in the moment and helping to spread awareness. It was more than just a fun activity, it was a chance to start conversations, reflect, and show heartfelt support for the many people and families impacted by this condition 💜

With 1 in 3 people living with a brain tumour, moments like these remind us just how important it is to come together, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity. Every smile, every hat, and every conversation helped shine a light on a cause that truly matters 🎀✨

At our home, we believe in creating meaningful experiences that not only bring joy but also make a difference, and this special day was a perfect example of the power of community, kindness, and coming together for something bigger than ourselves 💜

March has been a truly special month across our homes, filled with meaningful celebrations and shared experiences that have brought residents and teams together ✨

From raising awareness during Nutrition and Hydration Week to enjoying the energy and fun of St Patrick’s Day, there has been something for everyone to take part in. We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀

Life across our 46 homes is shaped by these moments, both big and small. They create a sense of belonging, spark conversation, and bring joy to everyday life, making each home a vibrant and supportive place to live 🏡💜

Behind every celebration is the dedication and care of our incredible teams, whose passion continues to create engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents 👏💜

Nutrition and Hydration Week 🍉🥝

This week at our home, we turned our focus to the importance of nutrition and hydration, bringing both together in a fun and meaningful way for our residents. The day was filled with colour, creativity and conversation as everyone came together to take part in making their very own fruit kebabs 💜✨

With a wonderful selection of fresh fruits including banana, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple and melon, residents carefully chose their favorites and created bright, beautiful combinations. It was not only a delicious activity but also a lovely opportunity to encourage healthy choices while enjoying time together 🍓🍍

There were smiles all around as the finished kebabs were shared and enjoyed, proving that nutritious food can be just as exciting as it is beneficial. Moments like these remind us how important it is to make well being engaging, social and full of joy 💜😊

What is your favorite fruit to include on a kebab? We would love to hear from you in the comments 💬💜

Our wonderful residents fully embraced the joy and laughter of Red Nose Day as they came together wearing their bright red noses, filling our home with smiles and a shared sense of purpose. On this special day, our community united to support a wonderful cause, showing that even the smallest gesture can help spread happiness and make a difference 🎉🤡

Who made the day so memorable were our fantastic residents, who brought humour, warmth, and plenty of personality to the celebration. What truly made everyone laugh were the jokes shared throughout the day, with favourites including “my partner and I always hold hands when we go out if I let go she shops”, “I am multitasking I can listen ignore and forget at the same time”, and “life is short smile while you still have teeth” 💜

The laughter continued with more witty moments such as “you know you are getting old when your back goes out more than you do”, “why do you drink so much I drink to make other people more interesting”, and “my husband said he needed more space so I locked him out in the garden”. Why these moments matter so much is because they bring people together, lift spirits, and remind us all of the power of laughter while raising funds for those in need 😊

🌼🌸 It was a beautiful spring day for a stroll, and Brian made the most of it with a lovely walk to the local shops, taking in all the sights of the season along the way

As he walked, he couldn’t help but pause to admire the flowers in bloom, with bright colours lining the path and bringing a real sense of joy to the day. The fresh air, gentle sunshine, and peaceful surroundings made it a truly uplifting outing 🌷

Brian shared stories from his years as a landscape gardener, speaking fondly about his love for the outdoors and the pride he took in his work. His passion for nature still shines through today, especially as he listens out for birdsong, often identifying different species just by their calls 🐦✨

Moments like these are a wonderful reminder of how meaningful it is to reconnect with nature, spark memories, and enjoy the simple pleasures that bring so much happiness 💫

To make the day even more special, each of our lovely ladies received a thoughtful gift bag filled with chocolates and wildflower seeds, a small token of appreciation to take home and enjoy. The seeds will be lovingly planted in our communal garden, creating something beautiful that will continue to grow and bloom, just like the cherished memories we shared together 🌷

🎶 A Joyful Afternoon of New Orleans Jazz 🎶

Our home was brought to life with the vibrant sounds of the Franklin Street New Orleans Jazz Band, as our lovely residents gathered for an unforgettable afternoon filled with music, movement, and pure joy. From the very first note, the room was transformed into a lively celebration, with the spirit of New Orleans shining through and lifting everyone’s mood 🎷✨

As the band played their energetic and nostalgic tunes, residents couldn’t help but tap their feet, clap along, and even get up to dance. It was a wonderful sight to see so many smiling faces, including Lorna and Francis showing off their best jazz hands and truly embracing the moment. The atmosphere was full of laughter, rhythm, and shared happiness that brought everyone together 💃🎺

The talented trio, Tony Hilton on alto and tenor saxophones, David Price on guitar, and Terry Alderson on string bass, delivered a performance rich in experience and passion. With over 40 years of playing in and around London, including appearances at well known venues such as Hatfield House, Blenheim Palace, and Knebworth House, their music carried a sense of history and excellence that made the afternoon feel extra special 🎼

Residents were fascinated to hear about the band’s journey, including David Price’s connection to the Temperance Seven in the 1960s and 70s, adding an extra touch of nostalgia to an already memorable experience. Their stories, combined with their incredible sound, created a truly engaging and meaningful performance 🎸

We are so grateful to the Franklin Street New Orleans Jazz Band for bringing such energy, talent, and joy into our home. It was an afternoon filled with music, dancing, and wonderful memories that our residents will be talking about for a long time to come 🎶💛

Our lovely residents had an unforgettable day as they embraced their inner cowboys and cowgirls, putting on their best cowboy hats and stepping into the world of line dancing! 🎶🤠 From the moment the music started, the activity room was alive with energy, laughter, and the rhythmic sound of clapping and stamping feet. Everyone eagerly gathered to learn a new line dancing routine, and it was wonderful to see residents helping each other remember the steps, sharing tips, and encouraging one another along the way. 💃🌟

The session quickly became more than just a dance class – it turned into a celebration of community and fun. Residents smiled from ear to ear as they perfected each move, and the air was filled with cheerful chatter, bursts of laughter, and even a few playful competitions to see who could keep up with the rhythm the best. Some residents tapped their feet along from the sidelines before joining in, inspired by the energy and camaraderie around them.

It wasn’t just about dancing; it was about connection, teamwork, and creating joyful memories together. By the end of the session, everyone was glowing with happiness, proud of their new line dancing skills, and sharing stories about past dances and fun experiences.
