Down and dirty for a difference! 💪🏼

Last month, some of our team participated in Tough Mudder 2023, raising funds for Brain Tumour Research.

The team, along with family, friends and the community, were able to raise an incredible £1,500.

GV Health are committed to supporting meaningful causes. In honour of this, we have matched these generous donations, bringing us to a grand total of £3,000!

We hope our funds can contribute to funding the incredible research this charity undertakes and support families affected by Brain Tumours. 💛

SoChlor - High Antimicrobial Performance to break the chain of infection
SoChlor technology is effective at killing a wide range of pathogens, including Bacteria, Viruses, Spores, and Fungi. Particularly pathogens of high concern such as, mycobacteria, non-enveloped viruses and spore forming bacteria. And can be used for high-level disinfection in hospitals, helping to break the chain of infection, interceding at the early stages of transmission. This helps to prevent infections which may lead to the emergence of dangerous diseases, which in certain cases can prove fatal if untreated. In turn, this helps to prevent the emergence of outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics. SoChlor’s antimicrobial effectiveness is thanks to the ability of Hypochlorous acid, which unlike other antimicrobials, is able to pass through the pathogen’s cell membrane, thereby entering the cell. Cells are designed to protect themselves from the external environment, but not from within. Therefore, as an oxidising agent, once within the cell, Hypochlorous acid is able to more effectively cause cell death. This enables Hypochlorous acid to act as a high-level disinfectant when used as directed.

How to safely contain and remove chemical spills with the GV Health Chemical Spill Kit:
For Fast Containment & Removal of Hazardous Chemicals. A single use spill pack for protection against hazardous chemicals and contaminating fluids. The pack absorbs up to 1 litre of chemical spill and is safe and efficient for cleaning up chemical spillages in a laboratory environment. The small pack makes it easy to keep ready for use in all areas and ensure accessibility where it may be needed. The one pack use format prevents fragmentation of components and ensures all items are present when opened.

The sorbent is made up of two layers that are sonically welded together. The top layer is made of a no lint, durable spun-bond polypropylene while the core/base layer is made from high loft melt-blown fibres. In addition the core/base layer has low slip treatment for areas of high foot traffic.

Our Biohazard Spill range makes it easy, even with little to no training, as clear instructions ensure best practice clean up and disinfection.

Infection Prevention
Biohazard spill kits and packs ensure the correct clean-up of the spill, thereby reducing or preventing the risk of infection spread. To keep surfaces and environments safe, it is worth noting the difference between cleaning and disinfection.
Cleaning is the removal if dirt, grease, surface load and some micro-organisms but does not kill micro-organisms.
Disinfection is the destruction of micro-organisms that are harmful to us, but disinfectants do not necessarily ‘clean’.
