I am currently reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, it’s very insightful and thought provoking on how screens, technology and fear have stopped children playing and having positive interactions with each other. Rewiring the development of our children’s brains.

We are all the hooked fish at one time or another in our lives.. let’s remember behaviour is an unspoken communication often masking difficult feelings and/or emotions.

I love this quote by Karl Menninger.

‘It’s hard for a free fish to understand what is happening to a hooked one. To the free fish the hooked one looks strange thrashing about, trying to escape, when they can’t see the hook.
However, the hooked fish’s movements are an attempt to remedy the situation.’

💗For those of you who are grieving or feeling ALL THE THINGS, I wish you gentleness and hugs.
I want to hold space today for those that didn't (or don't) have a good relationship with their father. When your relationship is toxic, abusive, or they choose not to be part of your life, today can be a painful reminder.
Be kind to yourself.

You are loved and their absence was never your fault. (I give this reminder to myself too)
