This week, Stu had the privilege of speaking to the Cloisters Ladies LC about his journey from the British Army to co-founding The Muster Point.

He shared his experiences of being injured by an IED in Afghanistan, the challenges of leaving the Army and becoming a civilian in just six months, and his battles with PTSD and addiction.

Stu spoke about finding recovery at Tom Harrison House, rebuilding his life, and using his experiences to give back to the veteran community. He also shared how meeting Steve led to the creation of The Muster Point and the support it now provides to veterans across the area.

Thank you to the Cloisters Ladies LC for having us, for your warm welcome, and for your generous donation. Your support helps us continue supporting veterans and their families. 🇬🇧

The Army doesn’t teach you how to enjoy food.

It teaches you how to consume 2,000 calories before somebody screams “stand by to move.”

Now apparently family meals are meant to last longer than a smoke break and you’re not supposed to issue movement timings at the table.

Who else still eats like they’re halfway through exercise?

Big respect to Ed Mackenzie and everyone behind the Elysium Memorial Foundation.

The first UK memorial dedicated to those lost to their inner demons is finally becoming reality at the National Memorial Arboretum.

If you want to join the Guard of Honour ride on 12th June, the link will be in the comments.

Every unit had that AGC clerk who looked like he’d never left the office… but somehow had more control over your life than your troop commander.

One wrong form and suddenly your pay’s missing, your leave’s vanished, and Glasgow thinks you died during Op TELIC.

Who was the worst clerk in your unit?

Some Army phrases really do not belong in civilian relationships.

Apparently “pin your ears back” during an argument is not received the same way outside the military.

Ended up doing knees to chest in the garden for gobbing off.

🍸 Vanderpump Rules: Veteran Edition 🍳

A group of emotionally unstable veterans gather every Tuesday morning for breakfast, caffeine and completely unnecessary levels of banter.

Same drama.
Less Botox.
More arthritis.

Welcome to The Muster Point Rules.

In this hot weather, stay hydrated. ☀️🥵

The current state of my urine is somewhere between Sugar Puffs, diesel and the inside of a Warriors engine bay.

I’ve had:

☕️ 4 coffees
👽 2 cans of Monster
🚬 a v**e every 11 seconds

and approximately half a sip of actual water today.

Went to the toilet earlier and nearly had to report it to the chain of command.

The colour chart skipped “yellow” entirely and went straight to “chemical incident”.

If your urine smells like a combination of breakfast cereal and poor decisions… drink some water you horrible b@stards.

Adventure training.
Or as the Army calls it: "Forced Fun"

Nobody actually knew what cofftea was.
Still somehow became the greatest drink on earth when you were freezing cold on ranges.
What did your lot call it?

Britain hits 24 degrees and the country collapses.

Veterans are remembering Helmand in full kit wondering what all the fuss is about.

What’s the hottest place you served?

Today marks 15 years since the end of Op Telic.
179 British personnel lost their lives during operations in Iraq and thousands more returned injured, both physically and mentally.
For many veterans, the hardest part was never the deployment. It was what came afterwards.
