Emily has been covering some of Nicki’s hydro sessions during the summer holidays. It can be a bit daunting for patients to see a new physio but they soon realise that they are all very good at what they do 👌🏻

Steve and I are back from a wonderful two weeks holiday in one of our favourite places - our bag came in very useful on multiple occasions!

Steve has a steady flow of regulars for sports massage each week. Several local runners, cyclists and triathletes choose Steve for their sports massage.

Helder is a Stevenage Strider and is one of those people. He first contacted us with a knee injury that he saw Nicki for. Nicki then recommended he saw Steve for sports massage. Helder told me recently that since seeing Steve every four weeks for the last two years he hasn’t had any muscle aches or pains or injuries.

Helder is an amazing runner and often wins his age category at races. For example, this weekend he did the Bedford Autodrome 10K in 40:54 and came 17th overall and 1st in his age group!

As it’s almost August most of the team will be taking their well earned summer holidays in the next few weeks. This means very limited appointment availability. Please bear with us, it’s the same every summer. We will be fully staffed again in September.

We have already had to disappoint three people enquiring today who didn’t want to wait. One lady said “it’s a shame you’re so busy as you were recommended to me by several people”

That’s why we are busy 🤩.

A small selection of today’s patients;

Rhian performing some readiness to return to run tests after picking up a couple of injuries during and after her half Ironman.

Nigel keeping his Glutes strong in the restraints of his Vacoped boot after Achilles’ tendon repair (post rupture) 9 weeks ago. We are following a very strict protocol from his London Surgeon. In picture two he is doing gentle resisted plantar flexion against a wobble cushion whilst not exceeding 90 degrees dorsiflexion.

Heidi is one year post op from her PAO surgery: Peri-Acetabular Osteotomy (hip surgery!). Her goal is to return to hockey.🏑 Today we introduced some plyometrics.

This is just three examples of people I saw today.
