🚨 The Hidden Cost of Wildlife Rescue – We Need Your Help

At Sompting Wildlife Rescue, our volunteers don’t just give their time — they give their fuel, their vehicles, and often their entire day responding to animals in need.

Right now, that cost is rising.
With increasing fuel prices, it is becoming increasingly difficult — and unfair — to expect volunteers to travel back and forth multiple times a day entirely at their own expense.

Since January, we’ve seen over a 200% increase in the number of animals needing our help compared to previous years. This is due to both our growing reach and the reality that more wildlife is requiring assistance than ever before.

At the same time, donations have decreased.

More and more, we are attending situations where members of the public are unable to wait with an animal — which means we’re still responding, still helping, but without the opportunity for direct support that often helps keep us going.

We will never turn our backs on an animal in need. But the reality is — this level of demand, combined with rising costs, is putting increasing pressure on our small, volunteer-led team.
