This is what you can do as a parent to prevent struggles…
✅ Help them take up exercise. And don’t just tell them to do it - show them how to do it! Children are sponges and want to see their mum and dad be healthy too!
✅ Check in with them regularly. They might not want to talk about their feelings immediately, but the simple act of you doing this will teach them that talking is a good thing!
✅ Allow them to express themselves. Whatever they are interested and passionate about, let them explore it.
✅ Notice any behaviour changes. Changes to mood, talkativeness, defensiveness, energy, eating habits and sleeping habits are all signs.
So, let’s get moving, let’s get talking and let’s get to work on expressing ourselves.
