Last week was the 6th and final class of my 'Grief Release and Relax' programme. Thankyou so much to those who joined me and for all your great feedback.

Each week we focussed on a different emotion commonly experienced in Grief. We gradually unravelled and relaxed the tangled ball of Grief emotions, one step at a time.

We shared our experiences of the emotion and discussed some theories and research around this.

We then did a transformative flowing movement meditation designed to connect to, and release the emotion, through movement, breath and sound to music, and to connect to the opposing positive feeling to empower and give hope.

Following this I invited everyone to try expressing their feelings through art, through simple therapeutic art exercises.

Each week we ended with a soothing guided meditation, specifically chosen to compliment the theme of the day, and some positive affirmations. I have been told I have the most soothing voice that people seem to connect to and find very relaxing.

I am delighted with the response to this programme and how well participants engaged with the process. I look forward to delivering it again soon, with a plan to deliver in-person in Scotland as well as online.

If you would like to find out more about this programme or any other services, please feel free to check out my website www.creatingcalmtherapies.co.uk, or to contact me on clare@creatingcalmtherapies.co.uk or message me or comment below.

This is an example of how therapeutic art can help people to connect with the sub-conscious mind, and their intuition. I am so pleased that this participant has been able to connect their loneliness and isolation with something positive and beautiful.

Another positive client Review, following the 4th 'Grief Release and Relax' session.
Last week we focussed on how fear and anxiety can intensify the pain of grief, as the uncertainty of life without a loved one magnifies the overwhelming emotions and deepens the sense of loss.
We released a lot of tension and fear as well as connecting to our strength and bravery through 'Grief Movement'. Participants were then given the option of creating a character to personify their fear, or creating art where their fears and anxieties were contained and surrounded by comforting images. We ended as always with a calming meditation, this time to calm fear and tap into courage.

A Glimpse into 'Grief Movement' 🌿

Here’s an excerpt from one of my recent 'Grief Movement' sessions.
This movement is called 'Releasing Pain' and focuses on expressing and releasing the deep pain of separation and the heartache of watching a loved one become sick and die. It’s about moving that pain out of our bodies to help facilitate healing.
While this movement is about letting go, it doesn’t mean we are letting go of our loved ones. Their love remains with us always. As the pain of grief begins to soften, it transforms and grows into enduring love.

Thanks to Paul Denniston who founded 'Grief Movement' and trained me to be a certified guide.

Embracing Art in Times of Grief 🌈

Grief can feel like an endless storm, but art can be the umbrella that helps us weather it. Here's why art is a powerful tool in the healing process:

1. **Expression Beyond Words**: Art provides a medium to express emotions that are too complex for words. 🎨 Whether through painting, drawing, or sculpting, we can channel our sorrow, anger, and confusion into something tangible.

2. **Connection with Others**: Sharing our art can create a sense of community. πŸ‘₯ When we see our experiences reflected in others' work, we feel less alone in our grief.

3. **Mindfulness and Focus**: Creating art requires concentration and can be a form of meditation. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ It helps us stay present and find moments of peace amid the chaos.

4. **Legacy and Remembrance**: Art can be a way to honour and remember those we've lost. πŸ–ΌοΈ By creating in their memory, we keep their spirit alive.

5. **Healing and Growth**: The act of creation can be therapeutic. 🌱 It allows us to process our emotions, find meaning in our pain, and move towards acceptance.

Let's use our creativity to heal and grow. Share your own art or tag someone who might find solace in creating. ❀️

🌞 Summer Solstice Reflections 🌞

Today, as we experience the longest day of the year, let's also acknowledge that for some, this extra daylight brings more time to sit with their thoughts and emotions. If you are feeling grief, sadness, or loss, know that it's okay to feel this way. The sun may be shining bright, but it's okay if your heart feels heavy.

Take this extended day as an opportunity to reflect, to remember, and to find small moments of peace. Reach out to loved ones, seek support, and allow yourself the grace to feel whatever comes.

You are not alone, and your feelings are valid. Sending warmth and understanding to all who need it today. 🌻

I have always been a sensitive, empathic and emotional person, and often feel embarrassed when I feel the tears coming in public. Even before all my losses and grief, I would feel the tightness in my throat, and before I knew it, my eyes would start leaking uncontrollably. I've tried so many methods...

Some more great feedback about my 'Grief Release and Relax' programme, from one of my lovely members. Last week we were focussing on guilt and it's relationship with grief. It was a very interesting and cathartic session.

I am so proud of how participants are engaging in all the elements of the programme, and the feedback is proving that it is a worthwhile experience for all xx

Here's some lovely feedback from clients following the first of my 6-session programme called, 'Grief Release and Relax'.

We connected with our emotions, and released some of the pain through gentle Grief movement meditations. We expressed where we feel these emotions in our body through art. We ended with a soothing meditation to feel connected to our loved ones.

It was a truly beautiful session, and I feel so privileged to be trusted to guide others through their grief, to find more hope and peace.
