NEW CLASS THIS WEEK!

Core Recovery Yoga

Thursdays 10-11.15am starting 9th April.
A functional yoga class using the Amy Carmody Yoga method to support real women’s bodies. Suitable for women at all ages and stages*. Working from the core and pelvic floor outwards, each class trains for gentle strength and resilience whilst exploring how recovering our core can enable greater function and flexibility in the rest of the body. Expect familiar yoga forms practiced in new ways and a range of supportive props. Each class ends with relaxation.
*from 6 weeks postpartum.

Francesca Young Kaufman is a trauma informed yoga facilitator and somatic therapist, who specialises in functional yoga practices that can support mind and body. She also holds certifications in yin yoga and the Amy Carmody Yoga method. She trains regularly with advanced somatic practitioner Lydia Zamorano, and is passionate about women’s health and wellbeing. Alongside teaching yoga, Francesca is a qualified therapeutic life coach with an online and in person practice based in Bridge of Allan.

Lunchtimes, how do you do yours?
This team chose to come and get busy for 45 minutes, getting strong, moving together and cheering each other on in the process.
There’s lunchtime classes on at Heat where you can come join the team and get a fix of movement and enjoy the after glow of endorphins once it’s all over.
Group exercise does things to your nervous system that solo exercise doesn’t bring. Pack mentality, share the pain, share the work and share the afterglow.

Well done team, you are phenomenal. 👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽

Today the crew from came to the studio for a private yoga class. There were a few nerves but the team soon settled in to the space and got into the groove of the class.

It was a pure pleasure to host the team and they absolutely smashed it.

Time to shine a light on another couple of our members here at Heat. 🔥
Meet Graeme & Donna Thomas.
They came to heat as a couple, Donna’s first visit was 25th January 2017 and Graeme’s first visit was 8th February 2017.
Donna has been showing up consistently since her first class, and is booked in, along with Graeme to Hot Core tonight.
Graeme tried us out in 2017 but was busy with other sports - rugby & judo - but came back for real 24th March 2022 and has been a regular face here since then.

Donna has attended 646 classes since that first step through the doors, practiced on line with us during Covid and has never looked back. Those classes total to just under 604 hours in the zone!! 💪🏽👏🏽
The recent change in her strength and progression in her yoga practice is something that makes me smile so hard. I’m always blown away with her power and determination. Well done sister, you are an inspiration and a proper delight to have in any class. 🤗

Since locking in fully in 2022, Graeme has attended 286 classes, totalling just over 274 hours. As a result of his dedication and commitment to his health and wellbeing, Graeme has lost a significant amount of weight and gained muscle, you know the sled is going to get rattled up and down the room when he is in class, it’s already weighted to over 100kgs and just to add insult to injury I’ll take a seat on it to add a bit more load when it’s his turn - gotta be cruel to be kind, right?! - it makes no difference, the sled still flies like it’s on wheels 🤣💪🏽.

I’m delighted you’re both part of the team, its members like you that keep the ship sailing.
Dedicated to your own personal fitness and you always cheer each other on during class, even if the words aren’t always repeatable on here……..🤣😉

932 total classes & 878 hours of fun. Those kind of numbers are not to be sniffed at! 🤜🏽💥🤛🏽

NEW MONTH, NEW WORKSHOP!!

Meet our newest collaborator Dr Francesca Young-Kaufman.
Francesca is a trauma informed yoga facilitator and somatic therapist, who specialises in functional yoga practices that can support mind and body.  She also holds certifications in yin yoga and the Amy Carmody Yoga method.  She trains regularly with advanced somatic practitioner Lydia Zamorano, and is passionate about women’s health and wellbeing.  Alongside teaching yoga, Francesca is a qualified therapeutic life coach with an online and in person practice based in Bridge of Allan.

Francesca will be bringing you something that we’ve never done at Heat before. I’m delighted to have her onboard and can’t wait for her workshop in March.
We are planning this, and some more new and therapeutic services that will be on offer to you from April this year.

Somatic Yoga with Props – Dowel Yoga
SUNDAY 22nd MARCH 10 - 11:15am
In this playful 90-minute workshop we will learn how to use a wooden dowel to support our yoga practice, from myofascial release to alignment to deeper twists and stretches.  The class will start with some somatic exploration of the dowel as a means to open the upper back, shoulders, and hip flexors.  Then we will move into a flow in which the dowel can support our alignment and finding different expressions of the poses.  We’ll finish with a deep contrast, resting on bolsters and blankets to close the session in relaxation.

Meet Wren, you might recognise their face from practicing at the studio. Wren is not long back from Teacher training in India and is running 2 classes for you on Wednesday 26th Feb & Wednesday 5th March at 6:30 am. Then they are migrating south and will be back in the summer to bring you more.
We wanted to give you a little taste of the Hatha class that they have trained in.

Hello, I’m Wren 🤍
Yoga has been a steady, grounding presence in my life for the past five years, and I’m so grateful to now share it with you as a Hatha yoga teacher at Heat Fitness.

I completed my 200-hour training in classical Hatha yoga at a Sivananda ashram in Southern India. My classes include asana, pranayama, meditation and relaxation, designed to build strength, flexibility, focus and peace of mind.

We start with grounding and meditation, followed by pranayama and surya namaskar (sun salutations) to prepare the body for asana. Poses are held slightly longer than in many modern styles, using our breath to maintain presence. Each class ends with a deep final relaxation (the most important part!).

Can’t wait to practice with you all!

TAKE ONE DEEP BREATH

If you love some of the breathwork offered in yoga classes or are curious about how breathwork can help you physically and mentally, then come and try our 90 minute breath workshop.

This is an opportunity to go deep and breathe fully, and drop into a slightly different state of relax! We’ll move between different breath techniques to fully work our respiratory systems, connecting your body and mind. Every breath will carry you where it needs to go. It’s an afternoon of consciously inhaling, exhaling and bonding with the most important thing in your life…your breath! Truly, it’s a grounding experience.

During this journey, you’ll feel a range of emotions and be surprised at how powerful conscious breathing can be. This is a space to reset your nervous system and let tension melt away, allowing clarity and a sense of purpose and even power to naturally seep into your psyche

Whether you’re looking to just step out of the day and relieve stress, process something deeper, or simply find some peace, this is your invitation. Please join us.

What to wear and bring? .....Wear comfortable clothing and socks; bring a yoga mat (or hire one from the studio) and blanket.

What to expect: A brief introduction; several guided signature breathwork journeys with music.

Jack and Jules have been practising breathwork for several years and consciously ‘breathe daily’ for mental and physical wellbeing. They incorporate breathwork into their classes and Personal training sessions for their clients to enhance their wellbeing and experience.

WHY HEAT FITNESS?

Heat Fitness is a purpose built hot yoga and Suspension Training studio in Stirling, Scotland. We teach several styles of Hot Yoga and we use TRX straps. We have also created a unique fitness class in the heat, called Hot Core - it combines Pilates inspired moves, some yoga, High Intensity Interval Training, pumping music and it’s low impact. We offer private sessions for both yoga and TRX, for individuals or groups, and run weekend and overseas yoga and fitness retreats. Our classes are perfect for beginners to intermediate and we also offer non-heated Yin yoga and weekend workshops in everything from ‘arm balancing’ to ‘Suspension Training for beginners’. Our classes are 7 days a week, and we highly recommend a ‘diet’ of ‘hot core, hot yoga and TRX’ - the results will be fantastic!
