Porridge is boring, if you make it with oats and milk - only - like most people have been brought up with. But once you start having fun with it - adding textures, flavours and colour - it can turn into a very exciting, mouth-watering meal that offers just what your body needs first thing in the morning.

Will you dare to try?

I've sat by this tree many times before. I come here when I need some time and space to think, process, and make a decision.

That tree has joined roots, but then it splits into two trunks. This is how I often visualise decisions - as a choice between two options. But what I want to focus on this time, is that space between them, the void, the air, the horizon.

So here I am, sitting by this tree yet again, celebrating one choice over the other, and grieving over the one that I didn't pick. Because yes, you can actually feel both joy and grief, in fact you can feel it all at the same time! When I sit by this tree and stare at the empty space between, I know that good days are coming. And I also feel deeply, that honouring what I leave behind is equally important.

Change is an integral part of life, but it comes at its cost. So what can I do to make this process easier on myself and my body, to allow space for emotions, to release and make space for new?

Cleanse. I felt the calling for a gentle spring detox that cleanses, invites release and prepares me for what's to come.

Nourish & rest. Eating whole foods, removing stimulants, slowing down, chewing well - all of this offers vital replenishment of energy.

Connect with nature. Walks, dancing, listening to the sounds of nature, all of this keeps me grounded and helps me connect with my intuition to build trust that all is well and how it's meant to be.

What works for you when you're faced with a challenge? All advice is welcomed đŸ’«

Sending you love,
Emilia

Healing is rarely linear—and it's rarely something we do alone.

As a Holistic Nutritional Therapist, I believe in the power of collaborative, integrative care. That’s why I work alongside skilled therapists, instructors, and coaches to support every part of your healing journey.

The results my clients experience when we bring in the right kind of support—be it for emotional wellbeing, movement, sleep, or herbal medicine—are consistently deeper and more sustainable.

You can now explore the 'Partners' section on my website, where I’ve shared profiles and contact details of trusted professionals I personally recommend:

🌿Kate , a Medical Herbalist, draws on Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine to support the body with herbs, grounded in both science and tradition. We share a similar approach to health which is so unique!

đŸ§˜â€â™€ïžNaomi , an experienced yoga therapist, offers yoga, sound healing, meditation, and Yoga Nidra to nourish both body and mind. Her yin classes are a real treat!

🌊Michelle facilitates emotional release through intuitive 1:1 sessions and workshops, blending energy work, somatic tools, and flower essences. I love her reiki sessions and flower remedies.

đŸ€±Amy .babysleepcoach helps tired parents resolve their children’s sleep challenges with practical, compassionate support—even in complex cases like autism and ADHD. I wish I had known Amy when my child was little!

Take a look. The right support at the right time can make all the difference.

In this episode, I tackle one of the most common questions I get asked: ‘What’s the one food I should stop eating to feel better?’ My answer might surprise you—it’s not about cutting out specific foods but about when you eat.

Do you know what's the most important part of this meal?

A closed laptop.

Not the omega-3-pack smoked wild salmon. Nor the home-made chicken stock.

It's the fact that I intentionally (although not without resistance!) chose to eat this meal and only do that until it's finished. Chew well, savour each bite, pay attention to my body's cues of satiety.

You are not what you eat, but what you can digest. And the bottom line is, if you're BUSY doing stuff when you're eating, it's likely that your digestive system isn't fully switched on.

Is it easy to eat mindfully? No. Do I always eat like that? No. But when I do, I FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. Try it and let me know how it worked for you!

Some days, nothing goes to plan.

This morning, I snoozed my alarm one too many times. The school run was rushed. I got home, ready to make breakfast before my first call—only to spend 15 minutes wrestling with my front door key. No time for breakfast, then!

Back-to-back meetings followed. After a few late nights working on projects, I felt it by midday—hair unwashed, still in yesterday’s sweatshirt and leggings, fridge nearly empty. All my batch-cooked meals? Gone. Hunger hit me hard, and suddenly, I was on the verge of tears.

I paused. Closed my eyes. Placed my hands on my body. Took a few deep breaths and asked myself: What do I need? What exactly is going on?

The answer was clear. I’d been juggling too much. My routines had slipped. I hadn’t carved out time for myself. I hadn’t communicated my needs to my partner. (And, to top it off—it’s a full moon!)

So, I grabbed my phone and listened to a heart-opening meditation. I had a little cry, which was exactly what I needed. That release made space for me to reset. Then, I walked to my local Co-op, found the best ingredients I could, made a nourishing brunch full of healthy fats (knowing it would help stabilise my blood sugar), and sipped a warm mug of chicken stock.

Am I still wearing that same sweatshirt? Yes. Is my hair still dirty? Also yes. But my belly is full, my body is more settled, and my mind is grounded again.

I’m sharing this because I need the reminder—and maybe you do too: There is no such thing as perfect. Life is unpredictable. We don’t always have control over the waves, but we do get to choose how we navigate them.

For me, the tools include:
🌊 Understanding my body’s needs and how to nourish myself—even on chaotic days.
🌊 Practices that help me process emotions, like Flow Dance Meditation, Living Yolates, and yoga.
🌊 Tools that calm my busy mind, like breathwork and meditation.
🌊 A circle of wonderful people who remind me I’m not alone.

What about you? What’s in your self-care toolbox? What do you reach for on stormy days?

Everyone knows that a restful night's sleep is essential for our overall well-being and productivity and can directly translate into higher energy levels and focus the following day. Going to bed early, winding down with a consistent routine, reducing screen exposure - it’s all likely to help us wake up refreshed and rejuvenated.

But, isn’t it easier said than done?

Find me on Substack where I share my advice on how to create a nourishing cycle of sleep, lifestyle and nutrition, which can help you boost your energy!

I loved welcoming some of you into my kitchen (virtually) last Sunday.

Together, we made a deeply nourishing chicken and rice soup following one of my favourite naturopathic recipes. From start to finish (all the ingredients were in yhe pot simmering to be ready just in time for dinner) it took us just under 1 hour!

One of participants said:
"I've learned so much about knife skills and using whole chicken. The tips on making stock are so helpful!"

whilst the other:
"It's like a cooking club! I can't wait to do this again - it's so helpful to see it step by step."

and I cannot agree more.

So much that I will soon schedule another class in February!

You don't want to miss out this time? Send me a DM or comment and I will forward you a link to get notified about the upcoming class.
